When it comes to mining cryptocurrency on your average smartphone it is almost always met with laughs at the very idea your smartphone, though powerful for what they are, could ever realistically mine any cryptocurrency. When the concept of smartphone crypto mining does get brought up, what immediately comes to mind for many are the various mobile "miners" such as Pi, Electroneum, and Phoneum; which are not truly mining, but are more akin to a crypto airdrop.
But what if I told you there was a cryptocurrency that you could not only mine from your average smartphone, but that the crypto was designed from the ground up to be mined only by smartphones?
This cryptocurrency does exist, and it's called Mobile Integrated Blockchain (MIB).
I am not very knowledgeable about the technical aspects of this cryptocurrency, so I will finish by sharing the current price (as of 6/15/2020), but definitely make sure to give their whitepaper a read!
As of this moment, 1 MIB coin is worth $0.005477 USD, however with Electroneum having stopped their cloud mining I can see this cryptocurrency gaining more attention here soon. If you have an old smartphone laying around it may not be a bad idea to have it mining.
Thanks for reading!
