Cash App is running a twitter promo now giving away a total of $1 million.
A user may enter the promo by retweeting the promo post, following Cash App on Twitter, and replying with their cash app $cashtag and the hashtag #CashAppBitcoin to get 0.00019 BTC ($11).
However, it is U.S only, and several users are reporting problems when attempting to receive the bitcoins with a popup saying to check their network connection. Others are still waiting for anything at all.
Hopefully they will get it fixed by the deadline on 3/18
CashApp only offers Bitcoin so far for cryptocurrencies, but it also has stocks and fractions of stocks for sale, which puts it in direct competition with Robinhood. And unless it makes a faux pas like Robinhood, getting people angry, it might become the new king or onboarding the masses to crypto. But I wonder how much money they wasted on this little mistake.
Cash App is not a decentralized crypto wallet, it's a custodial payment app, but you can enable on-chain transactions which I believe would allow you to withdraw your crypto.
If you wish to sign up for cash app use the code TWQZPTH to get an extra $5 or something like that from me.
