The Story of the Orb narrates matches and mismatches, loves and terrors of singular characters, similar to all of us and yet so different, whether in reality or the most secret of our dreams.
An ‘Orb’, a world where infinite unfoldings take place, leaving to the judgement of the reader’s imagination the illusory recreation, for in reality we are being led by the hand. At the core, the mysterious disappearance of the children of the island of Nana, and a crime. Including various storylines, plots and connections, and the eternal civilisational issue, suicide.
As the story progresses, we yearn, desire, make love, but above all grow with the lives contained in it, and, if we allow so, transform ourselves as though we were daydreaming.
A strange, cynical being, ‘Diabásis Doleros’, moves between worlds, he is the ‘casuist’, all-knowing, he is also the common thread between certain cases. Impassioned, ingenuous youths who sadly cease being so. Adults who ‘deconstruct’ themselves to try to understand life and its whims.
Adventures bordering on the epic, melancholy, the beautiful, and passion… and, once in a while, as in the life of this world, happiness.
… The masses of water long since petrified rose majestically. From these icy colossi the more than perfect whiteness contrasted with the sleeping sea, obscure and profound, through which the Perihelion Southern Vésper glided; and, although they navigated quite far from the bluish-white cliffs, these were the translation of helplessness and impotence, the affirmation in that unique scenario of inexpugnable fortress, in an extremely high, extensive wall, the phantasmagoric celestial obstacle, the one that separated them from an unknown world whose encounter they knew was inevitable, this being the second of the designs to unravel the mystery surrounding the infants of Nana…
I was born in Lisbon, in the sixties, and I use a pseudonym.
Among several artistic tendencies it would be my voice to stand out, as lead singer in a famous band…
However, writing has always been and continues to be the most intimate passion which is the maximum expression of my soul.
The Story of the Orb is my first novel.
A work of impassioned fiction filled with poetry, maybe the first of a peculiar saga with a true Lusitanian touch.
An unexpected, thrilling narrative which dives sinuously in fantastic realism, a less-common genre, almost unprecedented in the universe of modern Portuguese authors.
I am dividing it in episodes and all of them will gradually be published on Publish0x.
