So, if you're new to this space like I am, you'll probably hear terms like "degen" whenever you're near something that has a gambling or casino-like component, and that's alright. You're among fellow degens, and also alphas! We'll talk more about those things in another article, but just focus on being a degen for a minute, alright? If you're a degen like me, you sometimes have the urge to gamble some coins, am I right?
To be quite honest, I didn't even know that you could do something like this on the internet, let alone on the blockchain. I have to give a massive shoutout to Elmoosho for pointing me in these guys' direction. I learned a lot through, again, just delving into the space, asking questions and looking around. You see, before finding Hokkaido Frogz, I had only heard of Degen Coin Flip. Degen Coin Flip (DCF) is a simple revenue generating program on Solana. DCF is a straightforward project with a direct path to revenue for all holders immediately after launch.
Sounds, pretty exclusive right? I'm still learning about TVL, daily volume and why these things matter, but those are specifics we'll have to get into later. For the sake of time, and simplicity, we'll talk about how synchronistic it was that the minute DCF went under maintenance Hokkaido Frogz popped up. Again, all of this is new to me. I'm sure there are other alternatives and even other projects that have coin flipping as a component of their overall ecosystem - except I couldn't get in at their floor price. Hokkaido Frogz had a dip in theirs and I was able to get in.
Before I had joined, and degeneratively gambled my stored Sol away with them, apparently they had been working on their art more for their upcoming breeding system, and so because of that people were just holding and chilling. It seemed like right as soon as I got in, they launched their beta, Froggy Flip and it made their floor price almost double! Now, it's not about money, because they had over ~800 Sol in 5 days? They had a pretty rocking community that propelled them too. I think DCF being down, combined with the beta launch gave them the synchronistic and positive advantage they needed to keep going.
The community may or may not be full of degens, and again, that's okay. We need that in these spaces. What I deeply appreciate about Kook and his team is that you can tell who's who and who's doing what. Deacon is covering the coding for Froggy Flip, someone else is working on the art, and in the meantime you're hearing from chill minded people from all over the world. The occasional smoke break makes for fun conversations too, I'll just leave it at that. People have even talked about setting up an annual meetup for holders in Paraguay, and that's how committed people are to this project and to the vision. You only hear about things like that with the Bored Ape Yacht Club, but it's small projects like these with long term visions that make those dreams come true. I'm not a Day One, but their Mint Price was 0.69 Sol and they had a Seed Supply of 999. That cheeky type of humor is throughout the whole project, don't worry. Their Discord's hovering at about ~3700 right now, and it's active daily either through the development team or from the founder Kook, or other people just talking about the project or their lives. It's pretty poppin, like all the time.
Respectively, we haven't even talked about some of the other games that this team is working on, or on the future utilities that their NFT will have. They plan to have a whole range of games like a full casino, blackjack, slots, poker and all sorts of things. I'll speak more about these as they rollout because at the moment, they're just perfecting the script for Froggy Flip. Again, I find it baffling that there are all of these different features to the Solana blockchain, and even the internet itself and that on top of that you can profit from these activities! It's like people have figured out how to gamify the internet and money, and that's pretty cool no matter how you look at it. That's why I keep telling you it's okay to be a degen. Anyway, back to more of the utilities of their NFTs!
Hokkaido Frogz is about to launch their new feature Tadpoles and Baby Frogz. Tadpoles will evolve into Baby Frogz, and they're an original collection within a collection. In order for you to obtain a Tadpole, you need 100 $Frogz, and in order to evolve your Tadpole you'll need 150 $FROGZ. That's IF you have two Hokkaido Frogz and get a Breeding Token. Without them, you'll be paying 200 $FROGZ. There will be a supply of only 1,000 Tadpoles, and if you mint a special Tadpole, you could earn 2.5 $FROGZ every day it's staked. You're able to trade their token on Famous Fox Federation as well. As it stands, they have not distribution their first payout from their beta of Froggy Flip, nor have they released an official statement of how they'll be distribution, but some people have given it speculation: If, at the time of writing 796 $FROGZ are staked, and the NFT Holders will receive 21 Sol, 21 Sol/796 $FROGZ = 0.026 Sol per $FROGZ, Sol is currently listed at 80.90, so 0.026 Sol x 80.90 = 2.134 USD if they were to distribute the beta payouts. That's simple, right?
An active user in the chat had this to say, "For newcomers, For you asking how much you will be earning from froggy flip by holding Hokkaido frogs. This is some quick math and in no way anything official from the team. We just started and we have organically grown to a few hundred sol volume a day. Assume we have 500 volume a day once reaching the stage we want to be in. That’s (500*0.7) available for frogs distribution. Which at 3.5% revenue charge ends up being around 0.015 sol per day (assuming 800 staked), 0.11 sol per week, 5.72 SOL per year. This is WITHOUT even considering the 7 upcoming games. Note, you still receive $FROGZ for staking your frogs, which currently will be used for minting and evolving the next gen. More uses will of course be added. Let that sink in anon, enjoy."
