I’m about to upset a lot of people. I’m going to write about XRP
XRP garners a mass of emotions in the crypto community. Some LOVE Ripple’s native digital asset and have been hodling it – and only it – for years. Others loudly maintain that XRP is pure garbage that they wouldn’t touch with a ten foot pole. A full spectrum of emotions exists between those two extremes. I like to think of myself as neutral, but I’m not really
I hold some XRP (oof!), but it isn’t my only position. I identify with the moderates who think that XRP (along with a number of other crypto assets) has the potential to increase in value. My time in the field has led me to believe that diehard XRP maximalists are into some extreme form of financial sadomasochism that I just cannot get down with. One way or another, what comes next after current events are finished unfolding will determine whether XRP’s maxis will get to inflict or submit to maximum pain
Are you mad yet? Good! Keep reading
The recent announcement that the SEC will file a lawsuit against Ripple for the alleged sale of unlicensed securities set Crypto Twitter set ablaze. XRP’s detractors are certain that this lawsuit will be the death blow that finally knocks XRP out of the top five and essentially out of relevance. On the other side of the spectrum, the XRP army’s soldiers of fortune insist that this lawsuit will bring the regulatory clarity necessary for XRP to finally realize its true potential. Yet, as tribal battles rage on in the cryptosphere, for once, I don’t want to write about crypto tribalism
How can this be?
Instead, today I want to write about the potential connection between Ripple/XRP and the conspiracy theory known as Q
I first inquired about the potential connection between the two earlier this year on a livestream with one of XRP’s best known influencers – Sam Dodson. I asked Sam, “Isn’t the potential for free energy related to Nesara/Gesara? And isn’t that theory related to Q and XRP?” Laughing, Sam responded unequivocally, “no,” but he did admit that there seemed to be a correlation between XRP’s riddlers and Q’s drops. So I wondered, what other connections might there be?
Things that make you go hmmmm…...
To help myself evaluate, I made a pro/con list
Pros:
-
Riddle or puzzle-solving aspects of each
-
Trump’s executive order 13772 mentions Ripple
-
Nesara/Gesara narrative from Trump’s camp
-
Q timeline predicted BRICKS nations, Brexit
-
Counter weight to China’s digital supremacy
-
Sam’s post-election coverage (Bombing runs)
-
SEC suing Ripple (Garlinghouse’s statements about the US limiting innovation to bitcoin and Ethereum in support of China echoes Team Trump’s insistence that the democratic party has essentially sold the US to China)
Cons:
-
Trump lost/Biden cheated
-
Trump couldn’t push Judy Shelton into the Fed
-
Trump couldn’t dissolve the fed into the treasury
-
Return to gold standard/Breton Woods possibly delayed?
Allow me to briefly explain a couple of these bullet points
Q & Ripple’s Riddles
Q
Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last few years, you know what Q is. Briefly, Q stands for QAnon. It refers to the conspiracy theory that suggests (among other things) that a large cabal of world leaders and admired celebrities belong to a Satanic cult in which they practice pedophilia, ritual sacrifice, and cannibalism to obtain adrenochrome – the secret to eternal youth. Further, the Q conspiracy asserts that US President Donald Trump has set a master plan in motion to take down the criminals who terrorize children and wreak havoc on the world’s population. Among the alleged perpetrators are none other than supposed President Elect Joe Biden and former first lady and secretary of state Hillary Clinton. That’s why, according to Q, the powers that be are hell bent on taking Trump out
“Q” is the anonymous source who drops hints and breadcrumbs on social media sites for the anons to follow and uncover “the plan”. I’m not going to speculate on the legitimacy of this conspiracy theory. I think it’s most useful to think of Q as a source. And as every good journalist knows, sometimes sources provide valuable information, and other times, they provide pure crap. Proceeded by Pizza Gate, which has since been integrated into Q, the QAnon movement began in October 2017
Ripple’s Riddles
Lesser known, even within the cryptosphere, are the riddlers who drop secret clues about what they say is the future of XRP and cryptocurrency. XRP’s riddlers have had many names: the Ripple Riddler, Marvin Gaye, BearableGuy, and Mr. Pool – just to name a few. Over the years, these riddlers have posted clips and videos from internal, not yet public Ripple presentations, suggesting they had inside information. The first of these riddlers was BearableGuy123 whose first riddle reddit post (created May 24, 2017 – when the price of XRP was about $0.29) is shown below

This caption accompanied the castle: Remember, Remember! The fourth of November, The powers that be plan and plot; Their weak hands so wring "It’s the end!" the fools sing. They cry when they see the the (sic) price drop. They don’t see the king. Accumulating. Planning and setting up banks. Big news coming on. Coming on strong. He knows that the 4th will bring THANKS!
This riddle led to an onslaught of online sleuths speculating about the future of cryptocurrency, but could they have been talking about Trump’s second term that long before the 2020 election? The hype that surrounded XRP after this post pumped XRP’s price north of $3 in January of 2018, leading many to believe there was credence to BearableGuy’s claims; however, shortly after XRP crashed spectacularly along with the rest of the crypto market. Over the next years, many riddlers posted clues, dropped hints, and left digital breadcrumbs indicating that the steadfast XRP army soldiers would ultimately be rewarded for their faithfulness
Like Q’s drops, not all of the riddlers’ information has been accurate. In the last year, I’ve talked to many who have been wrecked because they believed something big was about to happen to the price of XRP, invested more than they could afford to lose, and lost it. So it seems that like QAnon, Ripple’s riddles are not an exact science. One thing is for sure, the narratives of gematria and “trust the plan” run deep within both communities
Executive Order 13772
On February 3, 2017, President Donald Trump signed Executive order 13772, titled “Core Principals for Regulating the United States Financial System”. This order tasked the US treasury with reviewing the Financial Stability Oversight Council, which was established under President Barack Obama’s Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. Trump’s administration viewed Dodd-Frank as “a very negative force” and sought to dismantle it to make it easier for bankers to lend people money to create jobs. But to do this, first, they needed to establish the extent to which the existing laws, treaties, regulations, guidance, reporting and record keeping requirements, and other government policies hindered the order’s “Core Principals”. Thus, the order commanded the Secretary of the Treasury – Steven Mnuchin – to investigate and report back to the president within 120 days
In July 2018, Mnuchin delivered that report. So what were his findings? I have no idea. That document is over 200 pages long, and to be honest, I didn’t read it; however, it is worth noting that Ripple is listed in Appendix A under “Participants in the Executive Engagement Process” (but then again, so is Coinbase, ConsenSys, LedgerX, JP Morgan Chase, Microsoft, Square, and a number of other companies that are part of the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance (EEA)). Ripple’s mention in the report, coupled with Brad Garlinghouse’s (Ripple’s CEO) two visits to the White House to meet with key Trump advisors led some XRP community members to believe that the plan was all coming to fruition
Now, I could continue going down the list of bullet points, but I’m exhausted now, and I really want to release this article before it’s irrelevant, so with your permission, I’d like to skip forward to some of my own research
The Good Place & The Great Reset
I assumed you’d give me that permission. Plus, at this point if you’re still reading this, odds are good that you’ve uncovered some of this already on your own, but if you’d like me to go over the remaining bullet points after reading, please feel free to drop me a comment and let me know. Now, back to it
I was at DevCon 3 in Cancun the first time I saw an episode of NBC’s The Good Place. I was still fairly new to crypto at the time, but I instantly knew that the show was about blockchain and the establishment of a social credit system. For the last year, I’ve been attempting to write an article about all the times when I thought the show predicted our future, but it’s so many that I haven’t been able to. So briefly, let me just tell you about a few of them here:
In the first episode, Michael talks about a ripple effect in a presentation to the group. I don’t know why. Maybe I’m crazy, but something about the way Ted Danson’s character said that word “Ripple” – I don’t think he was talking about water or cymatics. That episode aired on January 19, 2017, when the price of XRP sat at $0.007070. As we now know, by the end of that year XRP’s price was $2.27
Throughout the series, as the main character Eleanore and her friends discover more about the “afterlife” they’re inhabiting, Michael and the other “architects” repeat the phrase “Nobody talks about the reset.” Could they be talking (or rather, not talking) about the pending global restructuring of our entire financial system? I tend to think so
I’ve previously written about the CIA funding propaganda in the mainstream media, and I’ve tweeted before “MK Ultra never ended”. This is apparent throughout the show as the characters often repeat sentiments disparaging those who refuse to vaccinate their children. And then, the most damning evidence of all, in season 3, episode 5 the humans learn that time isn’t really linear. Instead it runs in what they call a “Jeremy Bearimy” – for more on that, you’ll have to watch the show. Anyway, while donating millions to an opera, Jason tells Tahani that when he was alive he had a vaccine named after him because after he kissed a bat, he contracted a strange strain of the flu that rapidly spread throughout his Jacksonville community
Hmmmm….
Regardless of Q and whether Biden is confirmed on January 20th or not, Ripple/XRP has exhibited signs that it’s positioned to restructure banking and build a framework for a digital economy. So what if the SEC rules that Ripple participated in the sale of an unlicensed security? Any number of things could happen. It could be a fine and a slap on the wrist that leads to regulatory clarity for the rest of the cryptosphere. It could mean the token gets listed on the NASDAQ instead of Coin Market Cap, or it could spell the end of XRP in the United States – at least
Oh, one more thing about The Good Place…
In the show’s final episode, much in the way I noticed it in its first, talking to Eleanor at the end, Michael says he needs to get a HEX wrench. I don’t know why, but something struck me about the way he said it. Could the show be predicting the next cryptocurrency to skyrocket? The episode first aired on January 20, 2020 with HEX’s price at $0.00011422. Today HEX is worth $0.005218
Maybe I’m just crazy. Maybe I’m drawing connections where there are none. Maybe I’ve been spending too much time with the loonies from the XRP & Q communities… but maybe not. One thing I’m sure of is that I do not want to be left penniless if there is some large-scale global conspiracy looming. XRP’s extremists may be into some bizarre financial BDSM, but I’m not. Not when it comes to money at least
At the time of writing, the price of XRP sits at $0.27. That’s down from it’s year-to-date high of $0.69, but up from it’s YTD low of $0.14. Of course, I’m not a financial advisor, and nothing I say should ever be interpreted as financial advice. Do your own research, and never invest more than you’re willing to lose
