Coinbase adds Polygon network option

Coinbase adds Polygon network option

By ScreenTag | The Other Side | 6 Sep 2022

It was about time! Coinbase, the second largest centralized crypto-exchange, added a few days ago the option to transfer your assets stored in your Polygon accounts or assets bought on Coinbase to be stored in your Polygon cold storage wallet.

This means you can now transfer assets from and to your Polygon wallet for just a few cents, rather than several dollars when using the Ethereum network. This is a long-awaited addition for Coinbase, as they seemed to lack a low cost hot-cold transfer option.

To activate transfers from your Polygon wallet, you simply select the network on your Coinbase account, and select 'Show address' - it usually is the same 0x address as on the Ethereum network. Similarly, when you need to transfer assets from Coinbase, you select the 'Send' option, and then the network your wallet address is on (that would be either Ethereum or Polygon).

According to the announcement released in June, Solana is about to follow.
