Sponsored keyboards like the one belonging to Chris Anatalio, tend to forget that authors receive comment notifications. Of course he could only say that this post is jumping to conclusions, and point where this happens, without calling them names like 'inventor of the pet rock'. But they don't even have the dignity to have their comment seen by the author, and responded accordingly. They prefer to hide behind blocking the author once they have their comment posted.

Potentially. Bitcoin had zero value until the first exchange - Mt. Gox, if memory serves us well - emerged. Tokens adopt the value buyers and sellers are providing them at any given time. The ability to trade a token for profit is the strongest one.

UNI giveaway: Just another shitcoin scam

1. In many scams, there was no evidence of a scam, until everything collapsed. For instance, you can create a token called WETH, that is not the original WETH, and pump in liquidity to a pool, out of thin air. There is nobody to check on you, since users are simply receiving pool token units. Or you can distribute WETH to create pool units that in part go to the user's account an in another part go to one - or more than one - account, controlled by Uniswap. Although Uniswap could choose to work with ETH directly, where transactions would be fully on-chain, they selected to go with WETH, although this would not be needed, since they operate on liquidity pools, rather than an order book. Choosing to add all the complexity you can in an operation, despite simple solutions are readily available, is raising red flags. 2. Ahh, liquidation. That's when the scam is revealed. Only then, it's already too late. Mt Gox went down that way. The scam works until no liquidation is taking place. And be rest assured, if the scammer has the option to simply pull the plug, rather than going on liquidation, they obviously will go that way. 3. That;s why exchanges are anywhere in this world REGULATED. Internal auditing of contracts is a joke. It's like having a pharmaceutical company auditing the medication they invented. Maybe they will point the most obvious issues, but what happens with the least obvious ones? 4. Let's say I take your advice and fork the code, or write new code. This does not happen overnight. It may take years. How would that reverse what's already been done? It won't. It's the easy 'no response': 'if you think something is broken, make one for yourself.' Why not trying to fix what is broken? Why not somehow make Uniswap become a formal legal entity, with proper ToS, and licensed, with their contracts audited by external auditors, not Uniswap employees. Why are they trying to avoid all these like hell? 2 billion dollars is not pocket money that anyone should be left playing with. This post was not written to get likes. Or tips. It was written to warn anyone interested to be cautious when interacting with shady individuals or the operations they create.

UNI giveaway: Just another shitcoin scam

19 Sep 2020 ScreenTag

1. You make the mistake of comparison to centralized exchanges. Uniswap is supposed to be different, so it should not be comparable to them, but to other decentralized exchanges - although they do too have flaws. 2. Regarding the off-chain transactions, you answered to a question that was never asked. I never mentioned non-existent accounts. I asked about real accounts controlled by Uniswap, pumping-in liquidity that is only covered by thin air. Once assets are wrapped, there is no control over liquidity. 3. You never answered to the question, what happens to the users if Uniswap's managers decide one night to pull the plug. You only said that the same risk is there with centralized exchanges, but this was not my question. 4. You also answered a different question regarding auditing of operations. Auditing their contracts? Really? What contracts? Which contracts? Does the average user has the knowledge to examine the contracts? Internal auditing? Really? You offer this as a legitimate response? And do you think auditing the contracts is enough, if the operations are flawed? 5. Obviously, the fraud lies with liquidity provision, not the swaps. Swaps are instant, and either they go through or not, and they are on-chain. There is little room for committing fraud there. But liquidity pools is another story. Liquidity is off-chain. And your only response is, 'if you don't like it, don't use it'? Seriously? How about the (alleged) $2 billion worth of assets, parked there? Why the campaign to get more liquidity - and that was the purpose behind the token giveaway - although their daily volume was nowhere near to require more liquidity, if you believe the numbers? You always offer responses to obvious questions that nobody ever asked, claiming lack of research. In the other hand, you are leaving the questions asked unanswered. If you think you are defending Uniswap with your responses, you are doing a lousy job so far. P.S.: They recently reduced the transactions visibility to one day from three days. But I guess, this is OK with you too...

UNI giveaway: Just another shitcoin scam

19 Sep 2020 ScreenTag

There is a huge number of red flags, regarding Uniswap. If borrowing is happening both on and off-chain (let's say by manually wrapping the same unit of Ether multiple times), you cannot tell what is happening by looking at what's publicly available, on chain. All liquidity pools are represented by tokens constructed using contracts, effectively wrapping any assets committed to each pool. From there, a user relies on the honesty of Uniswap management. The very existence of those pools, is heavily relied on the honesty of the management team. If they decide to pull the plug and take everything (and at this moment, we are talking about assets valued over $2 billion - yes, with a b), mix it as they see fit, and cash everything out, do you think public information will save anyone's assets? Do you know what the first transactions Uniswap accounts were performing were about? Mixing assets, and distributing over several hundreds of disposable accounts. Does that sound legit to you? Why on earth would they even try to experiment with this concept? And how about Uniswap as a legal entity? Can you find a legal entity running all these (regulated) activities? Can you even find any terms for their services? Who is running the show there? Are they keeping any kind of books? Has anyone ever audited their operations? Do they even care to be a legit exchange, properly licensed? Have you ever bothered to ask any of these questions?

The distribution of crypto on publisher 0x

21 Sep 2020 Diabeeton

21 September 2020
This is how Publish0x works. Tips are distributed at random, but with one token being the dominant with some 50% chance, and the other two at some 25%. Since the summer update, when Ether was introduced, it is the dominant token. When we joined back in March, it was BAT, then it was LRC, and for several weeks it was DAI. It's weird you bring this up, since the Publish0x team has posted an update that is available for anyone to read, and it doesn't seem to be an issue for anyone...

Plain stupidity. These people are born losers! If they didn't know what to do, why didn't ask for help? I'll tell you why. Because they are losers. They are overconfident in their stupidity. So much, that they will never ask for help, even if they are offered to be helped. We are pretty sure there are people that would like some help with Uniswap's gas fees so they could claim their UNI tokens. As you can imagine, we have received quite a few comments criticizing our offer, but nobody asked for help.

Either you are, or you play stupid. 1. Ether is the most popular, but also the only wrapped as well. 2. UNI has a large number of liquidity pairs 3. You would expect UNI pairs to be incentivized. Not ETH pairs. Unless you need more ETH for some reason 4. No exchange lists a token out of their own initiative. They obviously knew they would be listed, because they have submitted applications. 5. That's pure speculation. In the other hand, they don't need the price to be that high. The bait worked, and they got all the fees they needed to cover ETH they 'borrowed' from their users to set up liquidity pairs for their shitcoin. Considering your lack of comprehension of what you read, maybe you are a loser?
