Crucible after a few days, kinda better

Crucible is a new third person hybrid PvEvP game that came out a few days ago. Developed by Relentless Studios and published by Amazon games, it had a less than ideal launch. Actually, it was a pretty bad launch and I had not so nice things to say in my previous article. I spent some more time with the game and I will say it has more potential than I initially thought. There are still issues of course, like the lack of voice or text chat, you might get some fps drops and in general it can feel a bit barren with a limited monster population. However I will admit it is pretty damn fun, especially with friends. Playing with friends makes all the difference. When I play Crucible alone I feel like "Yeah, it's fine." and stop playing after 1 or 2 matches. But when I'm stacking with friends I can go for much longer especially since I know someone who is really into the game and their enthusiasm rubs off. It feels good to have this co-operative experience with friends and working together to fight enemies. Right now I'm playing a lot of Tosca who is a fan favorite. It's lots of fun blinking around and taking close range fights. It's a bit reminiscent of playing Tracer in Overwatch.

I wanted to give this game a fair chance cause I feel it does have a lot of potential. I was very critical of it on launch day because it seemed like another case of a game coming out too soon. It's hard to say exactly what happened. In situations like this it's usually not the devs fault entirely since they are often under a lot of pressure not only from the publisher but the community as well. I still feel that we need to be critical in order to get this game to a state where it could be. Initially I would've given this game a 4/10 but right now I'm actually feeling like 7.5/10. The main reason it's not higher than that is cause of the lack of comms which are absolutely necessary in a game like this.

Crucible is free to play on Steam. If you start playing right now you will get 1000 credits for free which you can use to unlock the pre-season battle pass.
