Who Cares about the Big Bad Elon Musk?

By TabbyTabby | The Lonely Places | 14 Sep 2021

Lately, I've been seeing a lot of angst about Elon Musk, and his ability to affect the price of crypto.

Here's two thoughts:

1. Who cares? If you are in it for the long haul, whatever he touches off will correct eventually. If you're not, then SELL SELL SELL so the rest of us can buy the dip. Thank you.

2. The more people get into crypto, the fewer people will care what he thinks and the fewer will freak out whenever he does something. That includes larger-scale investors.

In short, this.

Yes, you need to know when to get out when things go sideways, but there's no need to freak out over problems the crypto marketplace is already on its way to correcting. It's not a permanent feature; it's a temporary bug. Gold rush years, remember?

So what can you do? Choose not to be affected by what other people do. Do what you want to do. For me, this looks like *not* checking the portfolio every day. This means taking a step back and evaluating things without the rush/high/anxiety/adrenalin of "oooh what happened today?". I'm looking more at staking/farming now instead of just holding coins hoping for a price rise or getting in on moonshot prospects.

In other words, HODL on for one more day...:)
