She didn't know why, but she didn't care, For she had her friends to share.

So she skipped down the yellow brick road, And she didn't look back.

She knew that everything would be okay, For she had the power of friendship to stay.

Just like in the olden days, when gold was king, Men would carry it with them everywhere.
But the weight was heavy, and the risk was great, So they came to the goldsmith, who would store it for a fee.

In return, he gave them paper receipts, That they could use to reclaim their gold, no defeats,
But nobody came back to claim their treasure, So they started using the receipts for pleasure.

The clever goldsmith had a plan, To print extra receipts, without any gold in hand,
He knew only he knew how much gold was there, So he printed more receipts, without any care.

The people used the receipts to trade for goods, And the goldsmith's plan worked, as he knew it would,
But his greed got the best of him, And he printed too many receipts, to the brim.

The people found out, and they were mad, The goldsmith's reputation was bad,
He learned his lesson, and he paid the price, For his greed, he had to sacrifice.

Now we know the tale of the goldsmith, And how his greed caused him to miss,
The value of honesty and trust, And how it's important, we must.
