Hey everyone, I'm not doing the normal intro because I need to make an important announcement about yesterday’s stream. If you did not watch the video before I made it private you can skip to the time stamp in the pinned comment to get back to the rest of the show.
In yesterday’s stream when I was talking about financial markets and how to estimate price volatility, I was using volume as a metric for the health of the currency at hand, completely forgetting that 90%+ of my viewers will be doing their trading on FuseSwap especially as I was using Fuse as an example. So no, you cannot just use any site to estimate where a certain coin is going to go. You have to be using the site you are trading on. Coin Market Cap may be the only site that has integrated tracking and that is still not going to be useful for most viewers of this show. I apologize for this error and hope that this is clear now. You have to be doing your research, especially as it relates to transaction % change and overall volume on the same platform you are trading on. It sounds obvious, and it is, it was just a really dumb mistake I made because I rushed the production process yesterday.

Fuse
So for today’s extended show, I am going to try out what I proposed the other day. I am going to be splitting the body of the show into segments based on the coin that they most directly affect and so for today, Fuse will be the starting point.
In the past couple of days, Fuse announced their new listing on Loopring Exchange and I think there is a chance that this listing is more successful than some of the other listings, and here is why.
They are the leading layer-2 Ethereum trading platform and they have the same viewpoint on Ether Mainnet gas fees as I do. They are a necessary fact of life, they make Ethereum what it is today, however, they really really suck for casual and new users in the DeFi space. As someone who casually mines Ether and loves the benefits, it gives me no joy when those same benefits for me turn into deficits for others. An article retweeted by Loopring really spelled it out nicely.
“High gas fees suck. Yes, I know without them Ethereum wouldn’t be possible. I know they prove Ethereum’s product-market fit. I know they help to spur layer 2 scalability. I know they benefit Ethereum’s security. I know they’ll make ETH a better store-of-value. I know in the long-run they are a good thing. But for the average person using DeFi in the here and now….they suck. The bankless vision is to democratize access to trustless financial services, for everyone. Not just the whales. That’s not possible if the small players are crowded out. That’s why Ethereum is scaling. And that’s what we’re starting to see L2’s are coming to fruition. Optimism launched last week with Synthetix and Loopring has been upgrading their protocol to support all the cool stuff we have on the base layer—AMMs, yield farming, a carnival of DeFi. We may live our entire DeFi lives on L2 before long, so we should get familiar now.” --Ryan Sean Adams
The more people that can be using and trading DeFi tokens and earning through all the fun and exciting programs available, the better. Fuse has done a ton already to revolutionize how transactions take place and how they are traded for such a low cost. Loopring is clearly moving in that direction as well and with additions of Kyber and Orion to Fuse, this is really just the start of the DeFi Revolution.
In my opinion, the crypto world was mostly restricted to enthusiasts and financiers for the first decade of its development. This decade should be the start of something absolutely groundbreaking. The 2010s saw social media rise, fall and then rise again and now I expect that we will see the adoption of DeFi in similar numbers. But this time, instead of being driven by affluence and wealth like social media adoption was, DeFi will thrive in the face and opposition to what we generally think of as “wealthy”.
This leads us directly to our next section of the show, GoodDollar.
GoodDollar
GoodDollar has had a pretty quiet week and that will likely continue into and throughout the weekend. At the time of writing, GoodDollar currently sits at 0.000245 up 5.15% over the past week. This is good, but not amazing. We’re starting to see more transactions on FuseSwap and this coming week, the podcast will be putting out a tutorial every day to onboard more casual GoodDollar users to the trading platform.
GoodDollar has been growing its user base over the last few weeks thanks in part to the referral program that was sponsored by eToro. By the time this show goes live, we will have likely surpassed 125,000 unique claimants which is a fantastic milestone to pass. However, and I feel like whenever I have been speaking about GoodDollar in the last week it has had a “but” or “however”, and unfortunately, this is no different. With 125,000 unique claimants, only about 42,000 have been claiming on average this week.
I am going to propose a new wallet feature live on this show, and I hope that whoever does the work on that aspect of the project seriously considers it.
So, here’s the proposal that will not only bring new members into the network by claiming their daily UBI but will also help build community. The kicker is, both of GoodDollar’s closest competitors, Pi Network and Bee.com, both have this feature. (Next week we will talk about both Bee and Pi Network and how they compare to GoodDollar.)
It would be a simple button that pings or notifies people whom you have referred if it shows they have not claimed their daily UBI. So I envision it working like this: You go into your referral page, where it shows who you have referred and there will be either a red X or Green Check Mark next to their name. At 1800 CST, 12 hours after you can claim, you will get a notification if your referees haven’t claimed yet. You would then be able to click on the Red X to ping/send them a notification to claim. This will drive engagement, community organization, and more importantly, more users to interact on the network.
I think that something like this would dramatically improve the daily claims to total possible claimant ratio quite a bit. Right now we are close to a 33% conversion rate, I imagine the goal has to be 50%+. This should be a relatively easy implementation especially once the Android and iOs apps are released.

GNC on Fuse
There have been quite a few new additions to the GNC community this week. We now have the first few pages of our Gitbook live so that you can go look at the documentation behind the project as we build in real-time. We have also added a relatively large community of Indonesian users who have been interacting daily with quizzes, giveaways and honestly just good vibes.
We have also started our first official GNC faucet on Telegram thanks to the wonderful folks who programmed Combot. The way it works is that it will reward XP for being active in the chat. You get between 1-12 XP every 1-4 minutes for text-based messages. The bot will moderate and ward off spam while also tracking community engagement.
Each user who chats on either of the official Telegram servers will be actively earning GNC and when they reach level 25, all they have to do is message a mod to reset their XP and cash them out. It’s really quite simple. Be involved, earn coins.
There are also bonus jackpots running in a similar fashion to how Cointiply and FreeBitco.in do their randomized reward dumps. Approximately 1 in every 1000 messages in the group chats will randomly trigger a jackpot that awards the normal XP at a 50x rate.
If a member hits the jackpot before they reach level 25, they can cash out early.
We have also added the reputation function to delegate community leaders and positive behaviour. This can all be tracked by the mods to keep up to date with who the community delegates as the user of the month. The User of the Month on each server will receive an additional 1,000 GNC as a thank you from the GNC team!
Right now we have an English main server and an Indonesian fork server. We are looking for interested community members to bring in a bunch of their friends and colleagues to create channels in their own native languages to serve those communities the best. We are currently offering 5,000 GNC to those who want to mod a localized GNC server and can bring in at least 25 new members. If this might be you, please email me at [email protected]
