March 2022 Humble Bundle March 2022 Humble Bundle

Hmmm... I'm not sure if I was really late to writing the February Humble Bundle drop, or if I'm writing early for the March drop, or if February is an abnormally short month... or if my sense of time is a bit out of whack at the moment. Whatever the reason, I find myself having a look at the March 2022 drop just a week after I had a look at the February one! No problem... I like nerdinng out and having a look at some games that I've not played before!

Desperados 3
Mass Effect: Legendary Edition
Nickelodeon All Star Brawl
Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan
Red Solstice 2: Survivors
Nebuchadnezzar
Police Stories
Evan's Remains

So, leading off the drop this month is the awesome Desperados 3 from the Desperados franchise. I played the first of these games at university... and so there is a good deal of nostalgia value to the whole series. Thankfully, I had avoided buying it on sales... and so, I'm pretty damn happy that it is in a bundle! I should do that more often... good things eventually come to those who wait! Anyway, the game is a top-down stealth tactics game. The mechanics are now pretty old... and the game might be a touch slow moving to those who are more accustomed to action action action... but these games still warm my heart!

Mass Effect: Legendary Edition is the updated and absolute complete version of the original three Mass Effect games. Wow, that was a real milestone in gaming when they first came out... a real blockbuster, with a superb story. Sadly, I'm not really sure that the games would hold up with time... even with the graphical updates. So, I think that these are games that are best left to fond memories and not played again. However, for those who haven't played them before... definitely worth a play!

Ummmm.. well, I recently experienced the chaos that is the Nintendo Smash Brothers... well, I guess that Nickelodeon All Stars Brawl will be something very similar, just with a different skinning. I don't know if I'm really that keen on that. However, it could be fun to see SpongeBob go completely psycho on some of his fellow channel friends?

Man of Medan is a sort of interesting looking cinematic horror experience... I would love to be able to play these games, but I know that I won't sleep for weeks afterwards. So, I'm afraid (ha ha...) that this game is going to go straight to the store.

Red Solstice 2 seems to be a top down co-op game that pits marines of various classes against a Zerg-like threat. It sort of sounds a bit interesting, but it is likely to be more fun a as a co-op game even though it says that it can be played as a single player game. I'm up in the air about this one...

Nebuchadnezzar is a pretty old school looking city builder game... I do like these games, and this particular one seems to have some serious mechanics behind it. However, it might just look a touch too primitive for me... I think I'm going to stick to Skylines!

Police Stories is another top down tactical shooter in the vein of Hotline Miami, however... with the twist that you are the police and can't just gun down everything that you see. Not really my thing... I and I prefer the games that are more tactical in nature with a turn based or WeGo system. I know the game that I'm thinking about... but the name escapes me at the moment. Sigh... old age...

Evan's Remains looks like a pretty cute game with it's graphics a bit reminiscent of console gaming when I was growing up. I do wonder if the story is good... the groundwork seems to be there for something quite memorable... however, the idea of a puzzle platformer is not really my idea of a fun gaming genre, and I'm pretty sure that I'm just going to send this straight to the store!
