I was recently approached by a Patreon Supporter who's been on the sidelines so to speak. In his text he asked if I had a moment to chat, I said sure. He said he was in the process of buying Bitcoin prior to the halving and asked which route/site I would suggest. I immediately saw red and said umm let's jump on a call. 

This is what FOMO looks like and I wanted to prevent that at all cost. My first question to him was what are you trying to accomplish. It's incredibly tempting to start hearing all the news about Bitcoin and watching it climb a wall that makes you want to jump in with a sense of urgency. I am not licensed to give financial advice and the information that follows does not constitute that. 

As I talked to him, I let him know that I can't advise you financially but I can tell you what I'd do if I were just entering Bitcoin.  I told him let's get a starting point: $10,000. Let's say someone have that amount sitting in a savings account at Bank of America (or fill in the blank _________.) Today they are earning .01% on that money; basically zero. In our conversation he indicated that the reason he was ready to #GetOffZero was because of the actions by the out of control Federal Reserve printing to infinity and beyond. He wanted a place to park his $$ and to ensure it could retain it's value and not be eroded by inflation. 

So, if that was my situation and I had that amount, one possible place I'd look is to Bitcoin. Why? Bitcoin is the best performing asset on the planet. From inception to present day (nearly 12 years), it's gone from $0 to $9,733.31 as of me typing this right now; sounds like a store of value me. That $10,000 would buy me, for shits and giggles, let's call it 1 Bitcoin; this is what Charlie Lee recommended everyone work to own. How would I buy it? Well there are a number of places I'd consider: 

Wallets (Simple and Easy)

Cash App - zero fees (it's basically a market order and they are taking the spread). They make it incredibly easy for you to connect a bank account, deposit $USD and buy $BTC. You can even set a drip and schedule a regular buy daily, weekly, or every two weeks. 

Abra - zero fees and pretty much the same as Cash App. Easy and simple to use. 

Coinbase - variable fees. As with Cash App they make it easy to connect an account and transfer $USD to buy $BTC. 

Exchanges (More involved)

Kraken - variable fees. They've come a long way and the more you trade the lower your fees.

Coinbase Pro - variable fees. This could be a bit more advanced for the average person but fees are lower.

Gemini - variable fees. Just like the two exchanges above - it's pretty much the same. Gemini is a heavily regulated platform and have passed both SOC 1 Type 1 examination/SOC 2 Type 1 & 2 audits.

So at this point I'd have #Bitcoin but I wouldn't stop there. There are two amazing platforms that I'd consider putting that Bitcoin on to earn interest: 

Blockfi - 6.2% up to 5 BTC

Celsius - variable and currently at 4.13%

Both platforms have pros and cons and that's beyond this discussion. 

Bottom line is that by shifting my money into Bitcoin - it's going to work for me. However, there is risk involved in me doing this. Bitcoin can tank and drop back to $3K or even $1K and I'd be okay with that because over the long term I believe it will perform better than any other asset on the planet. In addition, it's the escape door from the coming global economic collapse that I believe is about to take place. So I agreed with my supporter and encouraged him to keep listening to what I listen to, read what I read, and watch what I watch: My daily briefs. 

What will happen as a result of Bitcoin reducing the mining reward from 12.5 BTC to 6.25 BTC every 10 minutes? History has shown that over time (4 year journey) number go up! History doesn't repeat but it does rhythm. Take the RED PILL, go down the rabbit hole, and free your finances!
