Two guides about how to vote I share in the end, with one by a community member.
I just watched this video by CEO of Stronghold, Tammy Camp, talking about how the Q4 SHx Governance Vote is getting close to be over! She asks us to be part of the future growth of our community's by casting our vote. Until 29th of December every holder can use their voting power to decide the future of how MCA origination fee will be. These Governance proposals was published some time ago. The two question for everyone to have a good think about what would be the best is:
1.) Should a portion of the MCA origination fee paid to capital providers be burned?
2.) What proportion of the MCA origination fee should be burned?
My personal thoughts about it is that According to page 26 of the whitepaper, the repayments for the Merchant Financing Program appear to be progressing seamlessly. So would a burn do any good for the token or is reinvesting in a well working cash advance program? If something is working out in a very good way it might be the safest bet to try and give it more room to grow. But this is a question with many different opinions which is why governance voting is a great thing! What will you vote?
The first option of voting is: If you want to use Stellar's Freighter browser extension for voting, Stronghold's official voting site explains how you do it. So take a look! This second option got a guide if you intend to participate in governance voting without utilizing the Freighter wallet, and instead opt for Stellar Labs, here are the steps to follow! All cred for this part goes to the very knowledgably FerDavUA user on the server that uses his time helping us as a community.
"HOW TO MANUALLY CAST YOUR VOTE USING STELLAR LABS
- Head over to https://laboratory.stellar.org/#?network=public (Make sure you are on Public Network!).
- Go to Build transaction tab.
- Fill Source Account with your PUBLIC address where you hold your SHx.
- Once you input your address, you will see the Fetch next sequence number for account starting with "G...." button is available, click on it.
- Scroll down to Operation Type and select from the drop-down menu the Manage Data operation type.
- Fill Entry name with SHX::PROP:1: it means you are voting in the Stronghold governance proposal number 1.
- Fill Entry value with FOR,40: you can choose the percentage value of your choice depending on your choice about what proportion of the fee should be burned?. Always multiple of five (5) (5%, 10%, 15%... up to 95%). The comma between FOR and the number is a must, don't delete or add any other symbol.
- Scroll down and click on the Sign in Transaction Signer button.
- In this page, scroll down to Signatures, and fill Add Signer with your PRIVATE key.
- Scroll down and click on Submit in Transaction Submitter.
Click on Submit transaction button, if everything went good, you will see the message "Transaction submitted", otherwise start again and make sure to complete every step carefully.
Once you completed all steps and the transaction was submitted successfully to the blockchain, you can check your address in Stellar Expert and you will see a "set data entry" transaction with the info you use for voting (SHX::PROP:1 and the value FOR,40 in Base64).
