As this is my very first post in my very first blog on this site, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at PublishOx for accepting my application to become a publisher. From politics to investing to gardening to history to music and photography, my interests vary considerably. This blog here was created to express my interests regarding our fast changing world, for better or for worse and to encourage open discussions.
You might think the title of my new blog, 'A Brave New World' is a take off of the book of the same name by Aldous Huxley, published way back in 1931 but is actually my personal homage to the Brave browser which I now use almost exclusively, depending on which device I am using and in fact, is how I first learned of PublishOx. I like how Brave does not collect any personal information unlike Google and other tech giants that are literally making billions of dollars data mining our personal information in exchange for using their products 'for free'. Well, I learned a long time ago that nothing is free. We can see where things are going with these tech giants whom only days ago banned President trump from using their services.
Senator Ted Cruz summed it up perfectly when questioning Jack Dorsey, CEO of Twitter recently when he uttered the now famous words, "Who the hell elected you?". I have to agree with Mr. Cruz. Who the hell elected Jack Dorsey to decide what we can and can't say, think or read? You should know I'm a big fan of history. Former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill once said that the further you look back in time, the further you'll be able to see into the future. Well, that sure rings true with me because throughout history, when little guys similar Jack Dorsey insulted the king or the emperor, they were likely to lose their heads. In my opinion, Dorsey is playing with fire. Trump is still the president and has far more experience dealing with such people and likely still has a trick or two up his sleeve. I'm guessing here but you know what I mean. (Trump Network anyone?)
As for Facebook, I used to have an account with them but dumped them right after the Cambridge Analytica scandal and I've never looked back. I have literally begged my family and friends to dump Facebook and not one of them has so far. I'm hoping that with Facebook's banning of President trump, they will finally see Facebook for the direct threat to democracy and free speech that it is. Mark Zuckerberg too is playing with fire!
Google, well is Google. Do I really need to add anything here? They control most of internet searches, thereby controlling what we can see. Very dangerous stuff! They deny, deny, deny any wrongdoing but it's now become so blatantly obvious what they are doing that no matter what they do now, they simply cannot hide any longer.
Then there's the Wuhan Flu or China Flu... Oh my God, I'm a racist for even considering naming / linking Covid-19 by it's true origin which is in fact, China. Yet, the Chinese have no problem whatsoever calling the African Swine Flu the African Swine Flu. That's not racist at all and it isn't.
What's become of our world?
Would you agree that it's our duty to protect our democracy, free speech and basic rights? The Brave browser, GAB, Parler, Rumble and a few others are excellent alternatives to these dangerous silicon valley tech giants in our efforts to protect free speech.
This is the Brave New World we now live in.
Thank you for visiting my new blog where thoughtful discussions about the ever changing world we live in are freely encouraged. Please do start a discussion thread. Your tips are also welcomed and appreciated. Have a good day!
