I've been buying and selling on Ebay for some 20 years now. One thing that annoyed me early on were their extra fees just to spruce up your listings such as adding bold lettering or setting a reserve price. Their final seller fees have gone through the roof over the years. For most categories, the final seller fee on items up to $7,500 (including shipping costs!) has soared to 12.9%.
In recent years, Ebay has faced stiff competition from the likes of Amazon and Etsy. On top of that, governments have jumped onto the gravy train to force Ebay to collect sales taxes. As of July 1, 2022, Ebay began collecting sales tax on behalf of the Canadian government.
I can understand them doing so if the seller has a registered store front and is running an actual business but for people like me who sell personal items on occasion, as an example, an old vinyl record, is it fair to collect sales tax on an item that has already been sold once? Should we now expect tax collectors to show up at our once a year yard sales too?
All these things can act as a deterrent for those wishing to sell extra items kicking around. It encouraged me to have look around for an alternative and I came across Bitify, a Bitcoin (and Litecoin) marketplace and auction site. They do not accept any other forms of payment, such as credit cards or e-transfers.
On their 'About Us' page, it states the company was founded in September, 2013 in Sydney, Australia as 'CryptoThrift' and has grown to have over 165,000 users and 160,000 successful trades worth over $15 million. I'm not sure when this page was last updated but I'm guessing their user base has grown a bit larger with the surging popularity in Bitcoin.
The page states most of their customers are in the USA, E.U. and South East Asia. They allow secure transactions through their own built-in Bitcoin escrow service which offers 30 day buyer protection to guarantee buyers get what they pay for or their money back.
Posting is free for all listing. The icing on the cake is their seller fee, just 4.5% or 2.5% if you're a 'Super Seller'. They have a small 'Featured Item' fee but get this, if the item doesn't sell, the fee is not collected. On Ebay, the opposite is true. They collect this fee whether you sell or not.
There is a small 2.5% charge to a buyer who chooses the 30 day escrow plan which would protect the buyer from any fraudulent sellers. This is a small price to pay for added protection.
At this point, the site is still growing and has the potential to eventually give the Ebays and Amazons out there a real run for their 'money'. As their newest referral affiliate, I'm actively promoting Bitify and encourage my visitors to check the site out for themselves. Through 'word of mouth', more people will learn about Bitify.
I recall in the early 2000s, when Ebay was just getting started. They too once had a referral program that paid out 50 cents for every new signup. That lasted about a year and a half until they stopped their referral program after achieving their goals. Now Ebay has hundred of millions of user around the world, however, many have grown tired of their nickle and diming.
Bitify is going the same route with their own referral program. Their affiliate page states, 'You will earn $5 in BTC for each user that signs up through your referral URL, if the user buys or sells an item at of least $10 in value within 6 months of registration. You will also earn 1% of anything the user buys or sells on the site within their first 6 months after registering'.
This is an even better deal than what Ebay offered all those years ago. The new year 2023 will mark Bitify's 10 year anniversary. Help them grow by signing up and start buying and selling using Bitcoin as payment.
If you're a blogger on PublishOx, consider joining their affiliate program and start placing their links in your posts just as I have done in order to maximize your posts' profitability. Bitify has huge growth potential and although they've been around a while now, the next ten years could see them displace the Ebays, Amazons and Facebooks as the premiere Bitcoin marketplace. As more and more people discover Bitcoin and its benefits and join in on the Bitcoin revolution, it's likely they will turn to Bitify to buy, sell, auction their wares.
Since we're on the topic of maximizing blogger posts, consider the OwnX, CryptoTab, Ledger, Theta TV and Rumble affiliate programs. These can prove to be valuable links to add to your posts. On PublishOx, bloggers earn crypto tips which is awesome but also imagine getting precious metal tips from OwnX, Bitcoin rewards from CryptoTab and Ledger and also StableCoin and free TFuel from Theta TV!
Sounds too good to be true, right? Here's a recent reward from my OwnX affiliate account. Every little 'bit' adds up! I'm a big fan of silver and encourage everyone to consider silver (and gold) precious metals ownership to diversify their investments.
See my recent post, 'Silver Awakens' to see silver's fantastic reaction after Monday's surprise Bank of Japan move affecting their Yield Curve Control. Things are getting really interesting over there.
Finally, as we are days away from the Christmas holidays, I'd like to wish all my visitors a very safe and happy holiday and best wishes for the new year!
Thanks for your support.
Peace and Love to everyone.
