Aren't You Worth Something?
Your time... your genuine engagement... it seems the mainstream social platforms have used us to their own ends-- to increase their own bottom lines-- and we get nothing. Our data, opinions and content are put to work for corporations and governments all over the world.
But what if we can change that?
What if our content was suddenly ours, and we are rewarded for our participation and content?
Welcome to Uptrennd!
While Publish0x is a blogging community, UPTRENND is a full social media platform that rewards us for everything we do-- creating content, commenting and even meeting daily activity thresholds. And they use their own very promising token, the 1UP.

Here's how it works:
- You get points for the different things you do: automatic payments for activity thresholds (which accumulate for consecutive active days on the platform), and member upvotes for your content and engagement.
- You can either withdraw your points on a 1:1 basis for 1UP tokens, or you can level up your profile.
- The higher your Uptrennd level, the more points you receive per upvote
Still in its infancy, Uptrennd is a very busy and dynamic place! The moderators (called "Guardians") are working diligently to encourage quality content... they ask that you upvote only the posts and comments that are genuine and thoughtful-- and downvote those which are spammy and opportunistic. This will help deter people from joining just to earn money, and it will improve the quality of the content overall.
So it will pay more to be yourself and engage thoughtfully. Don't leave comments like "nice" or "good post" or you will be downvoted (points taken away). Show up for real and engage with people... create quality relationships!

Sigh. Doesn't that sound swell?
It really is! These things have quickly become the silver lining of this whole COVID-19 disaster... I've stumbled upon a few communities like this that empower us to get involved. It's the future of social, and we have the chance to be there at the very beginning.
I plan to do periodic updates about Uptrennd and how the community is progressing. But don't take my word for it: if you haven't already discovered it, do yourself a favour and CHECK IT OUT. It's about time we built a place that in turns builds US.
