Quick Overview 

Full warning this post is a major deviation from my typical updates. Recently, I have been trying to write more and more about what is going on on Capital Hill from the rumors to the actual events and what its impacts on crypto could be. This post is going to differ from this recent trend by covering the absolute insanity that can become The Hill. I love what I do, who I work with, and what we have already accomplished but when it rains it pours in D.C., to say the least. 

Background

After how brutal the end of July was I thought ya know it can only go up from here. Luckily August we were out of session the whole month and this let me recover and recuperate but hindsight being 20/20 that maybe should have been a sign of how absolutely insane September was going to be. For those of you who are new or do not know my full-time job is on Capital Hill. I am beyond lucky to work on a House of Representatives Congressional Committee. Furthermore, this committee is extremely bipartisan and all of our Members on both sides do get along really really well. Publish0x has become a huge part of my life by allowing me to escape the craziness here. 

September Struggle

It was known when we came back into session in September that there was a lot that had to be done but very little time to do it. The Federal Government's Fiscal Year ends in September so come October 1st we are running on FY 2023. For months now maneuvering had occurred to fund the government after September but between partisan politics and the internal party fights the pressure and temperature have rapidly escalated over the last couple of weeks. Two weeks ago I participated in 3 crypto briefings in one week alone and then had back to back committee hearings last week. 

Not to mention the legislative action and rumor mill that is currently in full swing on Capital Hill. With the government funding needing to be passed within the next 4 days now it’s just that crazy. Tomorrow as well I actually have a Metaverse briefing before another hearing again on Thursday. 

Personal Issues

Not to be outdone my personal or really non work life is pure chaos as well. In July I reported an HVAC leak in my kitchen ceiling. Well now almost three months later they have removed most of my ceiling. I had told them I was concerned about mold but it was brushed off until well a chuck of Sheetrock covered in mold fell from the ceiling. I would attach photos but they are to big according to the site… 

There is now a 24/7 almost roar that comes from the air purifier so today I finally told the complex I wanted a transfer out of my apartment. Due to the sheer amount of work and the fact I have taken a half day if not more everyday the last two weeks except for a single day. This weekend I realized I was just exhausted and so my dad is flying to D.C. to help negotiate my new lease since I am out of days to take off. It will be a huge help to have him here and to help take care of the details of the lease and compensation I am owed. 

Hopefully everything settles down next week and I just have to push through these last 5-6 days to move to a better situation. Once that happens or if I catch a break in general I will be back with my typical posting and explain what all has happened on The Hill including Chairwomen Waters effectively killing the Stablecoin Bill by making it something even her own party has turned against.
