Summary 

This short video was made as a sneak-peak into the new Tellor website, that will give new exciting features for users and TRB holders. From reaching valuable information about the project, to actually actively participate in the community, whether by voting or reporting. Each subsection of the website was showcased by Ryan, and also explained when users will use each part of the website.

Walkthrough 

Here we are with the new Tellor website, it’s not live yet, but we wanted to give you guys a sneak-peak as to what our wonderful designer, Ben, has put together so far, and see what you guys thought. The most important thing to take away from here is that this new website is going to be more engaging for any type of user as opposed to the current website which is more of a brochure to give the newcomer an idea of what we are. The new Tellor website will be kind of a “pick your journey”, depending on where you are in the Tellor ecosystem. Starting at the top, we have the activity feed of what’s new in the Tellor ecosystem. We’ll have our own blog-posts, the Tellor price, which is being pulled from Coingecko, as well as the Tellor github to show any recent pull request that have come through and any recent tweets.  

Moving down, we have pretty much the bread and butter of the Tellor oracle, which are the data points that are being reported on by the Tellor reporters. Here we have the 5 most recent data points; ETH/USD price, BTC/USD price and so on.  

Moving on over, we have two key components of the Tellor ecosystem which is; using the Tellor oracle. We wanted to provide that instant snapshot of what you need to do to use Tellor. So, you click on this here it is a quick one-pager explaining what it takes to become a user of Tellor, a quick sample “using Tellor” video and even directing you to the docs and the github and even a simple line of code, just three, to integrate Tellor.  

We’re going back to the home button here, it’s nice to have. Just quickly to browse through it, the requesting a new data-point. Another key component of the Tellor oracle is that we can add data-points as we see fit. The community can propose a new data-point that they want the community to start reporting on, they’ll click here, give you a little run-down and then bring you to the github where you can submit a TIP improvement proposal.  

At the bottom you can see the tidbits and the Tellor footer. These are going to be traversing throughout the whole website, so you’ll see them on every page that you’re on. Tidbits, obviously you can never learn too much about Tellor, so we wanted to keep that consistent, as well as the one-stop-shop for anywhere you want to go on the website.  

Again, going back to the Tellor homepage, sticking to the theme of being an active hub, we wanted to portray the Tellor ecosystem in its live state. You’ll see here each reporter will have their Ethereum generated avatar, with a pixelated version of Telliot, the teddy bear mascot that we’re rallying behind as the support for being able to report the data the blockchain. This is the reporter dedicated section of the page where you can see the reporters reporting the data and you can click on the reporters themselves, which will bring you to the reporter’s profile. It shows what they’re currently reporting on, how many events they reported, their status, their history and their activity feed in regards to proposals and disputes.  

Going back to the Tellor homepage, again, we’re trying to empower people to become reporters, it’s obviously not an easy task, as some technical know-how will be required but we are going to do our best to pave that path for you so that anybody willing to walk it can. 

We’ll have the “How the tellor oracle works”, give the full technical run-down on what’s going on under the hood, see the network in action, this is the activity feed showing if there are any vote items, the data-points being reported on, any of the data-points that can be reported on, as well as past votes.  

Continuing on down the homepage here, bringing it back home, it’ll be more about Telliot. Essentially, we’re doubling down on Telliot, he’s our mascot, the client that helps the reporters fetch the off-chain data and submit it on-chain. This is more about that, what the requirements are, and even the link right to the client to download it. We have our quote: “You’re only as decentralized as your data”. True!  
And then three pillars of the Tellor ecosystem, which are;  

• Governance, we are a decentralized autonomous organization, so being able to vote on any proposals or disputes that come through  
• The oracle itself, 
• The treasury, which is a new feature of Tellor X 

Then last but not the least, the bounties. So right from here you can grab a bounty and help contribute. 

Next, I wanted to go into the account profile. So as a TRB holder, you’re going to have your own little pit-stop, to manage your profile. So, I’ll go through 3 different renditions; one for someone brand new to Tellor (who doesn’t have any TRB), someone who has some TRB and is being able to participate in voting on proposals and then we have a reporter who has plenty of TRB and who is currently contributing to the oracle.  

So, here you have the “connect your wallet” button, and then you can just click on your avatar. Here we come to our account profile page. Currently not holding any TRB, but still going to give you a nice warm welcome message, and a little bit more info on what you can do to participate. And obviously without being a TRB holder, you’re not going to have any activity yet, as well as not being able to become a reporter.  

Moving on to the next user, who has 44 TRB. This user, they have voted on some disputes, they’ve voted on a TIP, and they’re close to being a reporter, and if they’re so inclined to learn more about how to become one, we have that information right here for them.  

Last, but certainly not least, we have a reporter profile, who has 1200 TRB in their wallet, gives a breakdown of their activity, how much they’ve earned in TRB so far, what they’re currently reporting on, the events, how many of them they’ve done. The history, this is going to give you the history of the oracle, so being able to dispute right from your profile page is pretty handy. As well as the activity of the wallet itself, so what they’ve voted on in the past.  

One last thing I wanted to go over are the voting notifications. Very important for this new website is being able to participate right from the page itself. So, I’ve got a couple of renditions of what it’s going to look like when there’s an active proposal to be voted on, or an active dispute, and how we’re going to empower the user to be able to vote right from their homepage. We’ll go through a couple of versions where that’s going to pop-up for that person going to the website and how we empower them to enact on it. Right here on the homepage, you’ll see, we have the notification box right here that says how many they have, and this is a more “in your face” kind of notification, that pops-up when there’s a live item. You’ll see here on the regular homepage that doesn’t exist and there’s no notifications, and then here we go, this will pop up. First and foremost, we got a live vote people, we want to make sure we’re rocking the votes. This is an “in your face” notification, get in there, get active, vote and be part of the community. And you’ll be able to click on either the notification box or the line out here itself. And it’s going to bring you to the “live on Tellor” feed, where we’ll have the active vote items, as well as just the active oracle data points, and even past voted on items.
