Whole call
Nick: All right welcome to Dev call October 24th main net vote week yes. So first announcement we'll reannounce it we got swag here Mike you want to sure you want to want to white it yeah well all right yes so the way they told these things so here they are oh would you like to read it can you skip it backwards for everybody it says they will push you to pick a side build fintech or build censorship resistance so that's cool so we got these new t-shirts what else did we get anything else we got censorship resistant hats same kind of hats we had before yeah those are those words yeah and the other stuff is Booth materials like a banner and things like that sorry yeah so super cool is to give all those away in San Francisco did we get more stickers no because obviously so so if you want the t-shirts go to San Francisco or if you're like one of the few people watching the staff Call and you really want a t-shirt you can probably buy a t-shirt yeah we can spin back up the store but like they're like what at cost is like 13 bucks or something yes so it's like 13 bucks you can buy a t-shirt if you want but keep in mind shipping like if you live in Europe shipping might be like 40 bucks yeah if you are in Europe it's more expensive because shipping sucks but we will try and do our best to get it to you guys we've shipped the year before yes you just have to wait forever for Customs to clear it yeah so cool okay back to Debbie things first thing so we're all live on Goerli we're live on polygon we're live on Mumbai all on 360. tomorrow we are doing it we're kicking off the vote on Main net we're going to be saying we're upgrading so actually today we're going to deploy the contracts on midnight we'll pass those out you guys can go inspect them it's going to be identical to the contracts on Goerli or 360. so feel free we'll be analyzing the bike code making sure that they all match making sure that these are the ones that we're voting to upgrade to and then yeah it should look great so that'll be that's kind of the big Focus this week we just want to make sure we don't mess it up I know it like actually is like five minutes of work but we're going to make sure that we make it not just five minutes of work so we don't accidentally mess anything up yeah you can't relate to it it's five minutes of work because that's when yes you do something stupid so that'll be fun and then and then the other big thing we'll be doing so we're going to be updating all the documentation this week to 360. I mean the vast majority of it actually doesn't change but if you guys are testing it out over on quarterly or even testing out tell it or anything like that and you see any changes and want to help update documentation feel free you know we always need more help on the documentation side so white paper we'll be pushing white paper updates as well yeah those should be a new PDF I just needed to close a new link so yeah fun stuff all right on to you Owen.
Owen: Hey yeah I'm just kind of going through issues there's things just like a lot and the disputable knowledge monitor so I'm just going to be checking in with people to see what the priorities is on those and trying to close some solve some and then the other thing too is I need to like test the new release having gone around to that background did a new release of Tellor feed so.
Nick: Cool all right Ryan on to you.
Ryan: I'm just going to be working on making sure that voting page is up and running and works and then updating the address is on documentation and data feed why don't you have that PR work with Tally he's going to help he's going to be your guy to fix that for the complex in Brenda Branch Sue Master for the dogs what's that remember sorry the complexity you were you were running into when you were trying to emerge from oh yeah.
Nick: Okay cool and then all the other front ends all look good for Mumbai and Goerli and stuff.
Ryan: I still need to update mainnet and Goerli for the data feed but Cero has been updating on the funded feed side.
Nick: Okay yeah try and get that done as soon as you can today if it's easy just to check make sure it all works.
Ryan: Yep, I tested the Mumbai with the new indexing change that you guys did so that's yeah of course and it's just a matter of getting maintenance to do too and Goerli.
Nick: Cool Akrem glad you can make it.
Akrem: Yeah sorry I had Zoom was freezing I was I'm working on the actually I just did I was working on the funding script to make it easy to fund through autopay through the command line for testing or if anybody else wants to really fund autopay on the main Nets aside from that the Italian issues and I think that's it and the true block thing I haven't gotten to it yet but I'll do that too.
Nick: Cool Tally?
Tally: Yeah I'm integrating the check for calc or integrating time-based rewards into the profitability check or tell you for Italian that uses Talia 360. updating the Telliot core contract addresses to match tele360 and then doing the Tellor docs merge Mount Pleasant do we need to buy notebooks I have a notebooks okay I do most of my stuff on to-do list I don't know yeah well he has he has a piece of mail here he's using this is yeah that's.
Nick: Cool it's Spuddy?
Spuddy: Yeah I’m just reporting to all the different networks I'm going to try to do some more interesting tests today like a dispute voting all that stuff I make I'm going to make one more Telliot issue because there's an error that stopped Telliott so to tell you that I'm using is the one that I've had together to use with the early 360 so it might be because of something I did and if that's the case sorry about that oh Owen can you receive my PR on the dispute the values bonded there yeah I did I did this morning just now oh thanks cool I got to run that too.
Brenda: Nick do you want to set a time for kicking off the boat so that people know that they have to have their tokens out of a six by the time? Off a centralized Exchange through it too we kick it off.
Nick: Two yeah two PM eastern time two eastern time we'll kick it off at two and then it's been like our traditional time well it's like we can like prepare everything yeah go to lunch play some guitar yeah I mean it perfect it's relatively quick we're just picking a random time yeah so.
Brenda: It's just so people know in case they you know because we do need them to vote so yeah please guys rally the vote we have to meet a five percent, last time like.
Spuddy: Yes like this is no joke for new people there might be new people that have come on since Tellor X is the last time we had an upgrade but yeah it was a long time ago so news for new people we don't have enough tokens to push the vote through ourselves. So if you build trb.
Nick: Yeah this is super different than with most almost like 99 of other projects they can meet quorum with the team and a few big holders yeah we're a little bit more decentralized than that so like we need you and if you're concerned you know if you only have a handful of tokens we still want you to vote you know happy to like pass you back some gas costs or send you a t-shirt to say thank you still delegate although gas costs should be super cheap this time yeah gas is super cheap on mainnet right now so it's not it shouldn't be that bigger it should be just a few bucks so last time the Tellor X it costs like 40 bucks to vote it's not it's going to be like a couple bucks this time yeah awesome yeah so can we give people a hat or a t-shirt if they vote.
Mike: I don't think we have enough for that but if it's like a person that asks you know it'll be a case-by-case basis I mean I will personally give you like come and vote then it might be something that we can't do but how about first one we only have 50 hats but no if you go and vote you get you get something I will send you something just come reach back out send you something so tell us you voted we're going to think you're the coolest person in the world yeah anyway we'll make you happy.
Nick: Ryan any questions today.
Ryan: Yeah, there were a couple that spotted Source from the Discord here one is: What happens if we run the old Telliot reporter post upgrade?
Nick: We'll probably just stop working because the addresses change so but if you update your contract addresses and you the values if they conform to the data spec before Tellor 360 they're going to be fine after time it should still yeah it shouldn't still work but I think we're having like some lingering issues like you'll probably the tip listener probably won't work some things like that so just go upgrade it you obviously are going to have to upgrade the contract addresses anyway so it's hard for us to get Telly at all smoothed out for Tellor 360 because everything's been updating and the Tellor Flex contracts that we were still reporting to in the Tellor 360 contracts and after this week hopefully it'll all be it's all going to be the same exact thing every Network yeah which is a big reason we're doing this so anything else.
Ryan: And then jpegx reached back out in the Deep questions Channel they there so for anybody that doesn't know they were a winner at the Eth Global hackathon for Tellor they're an option platform for nfts during the hack they were using mock floor pipe mock floor price on Mumbai test net they want to go to mainnet or L2 they were wondering what are the nft collections Tellor retrieves on mainnet/polygon and or L2 and if Tellor can also retrieve volatility of an nft collection?
Nick: I mean we could it would definitely be tough because like I don't think like the floor prices would be easy to return you would just have to tell us which ones you would want and Tellor could do it relatively easily but the volatility is a little tougher because like we would probably have to track that over time because I don't know if there's many apis that would like spit out historical prices for you. Doesn't mean we can't do it but it does make it a little bit harder so definitely just let us know because there's certain things that you know the volatility means a whole bunch of different things and you would also just you know we've had this issue with a lot of people have come and they've asked for like floor prices on nfts and volatility things on nfts that the big problem with a lot of that is it's so easily manipulated in any of these markets so you know we would love to probably work with you let's make something that that actually works you know like if you're just looking at a floor price of an nft on one chain like you can change the floor prices in one second really easily and if you can manipulate derivatives it's stuff.
Spuddy: They were they were doing something like averaging together the bottom five or something okay or maybe that was a different project I'm sorry if you're listening and I.
Nick: Yeah doing that right but well you know you can add like time weighted stuff like that so.
Brenda: I think either way we would have to work with them so they can define what they actually want but just reach out.
Nick: I think like if you want to do it and you're like actually anon or anything you know that's why we have like the GitHub you can go if you spit out like one of those issues you can just explain a little bit farther what you need and which collections you're trying to do so cool.
Ryan: And then just lastly if we want to there was a question about are we going to reopen the telegram.
Nick: Yeah go for it man I don't know like we have no plans of doing it it's because it was a success pool of garbage.
Mike: Yeah that guy DM me so I told him I was open to discussing it seems like I mean I'm I own the telegram group so all I have to do is reopen it and then like give him admin access and see.
Brenda: I think my one of I mean we have to think back as to why we actually moved and it's just a lot more organized it's easier to onboard people and not lose track of conversations the way that Discord is we can definitely talk about it but like I think we would have to be one of us or somebody in the team would still have to be acting as a moderator because it's just you know it's something so we want to make sure that anything that goes in there but if it comes out of an admin it's actually something that reflects the team's values.
Nick: So we just no I mean I personally like I wouldn't do that I would be I would just say like listen like we don't want anything to telegram here's an unofficial telegram Channel like. I wouldn't give him rights to it tell him go make an unofficial telegram for Tellor and
Brenda: I'd also be interested in finding out like why because honestly I don't think we've had a lot of pushback when we first moved I feel like everybody that wanted to continue to follow and interact with us continued like just move to Discord mostly and the conversations I feel they're that they're bettering within each of the chat categories I don't know why like telegram seems to be some people do some just use telegram yeah.
Nick: Some people don't use Discord so but you we haven't had any problem talking to other developers or users because developers and users use both yeah they're all they're on Discord and telegram the only people you're missing out on are like so the only.
Spuddy: The only people who want to use telegram are people who are trader types that prefer telegram they don't want to install Discord on their phone they just want to use Telegram and there are well that.
Brenda: That begs the question like what kind of conversations do they want to have on the main Channel like why you call it like an unofficial you have nothing to do with it the Tellor trb Traders Channel yeah that's exactly what it would turn into.
Spuddy: Before we closed it was myself and Illari always moderating the telegram and I feel like moderating the telegram was like all we had time to do because all there were no conversations happening in telegram that didn't need to be moderated like we always had to go after people being like no you can't say that man I don't want to have to ban you and then you had to have these negative conversations with people that's all telegram was to me that's what I remember of it.
Mike: Yep so yeah I forgive him to tell I could give someone the telegram and make it completely unofficial just cut ties with it because it just has 20 000 people in it I would like.
Brenda: I think I would I would not do that because like.
Spuddy: The current telegram the 4 000 members that we have it's like 2 000 Bots and another thousand people It's got to be all bots now yeah anybody who stayed in it can't be real.
Brenda: I don't know we can have a farther discussion later on mine but I feel like if somebody really wants to reach out to the team and interact with us or interact with the community it's not that difficult to download Discord sure or Twitter you can reach out or Twitter absolutely Twitter, follow our blog.
Spuddy: There were also like there were scam telegram accounts this is this is the rest of the story from somebody there were scam telegram accounts that were camped out in the official Tellor Discord just looking for opportunities to DM and invite people to scam telegrams where they would be given a link to some like malicious airdrop site you know there's just all these unofficial Tellor telegram channels yeah and they were actually getting people like people connect their wallet to these malicious websites to migrate their tokens because they talk to somebody in our official telegram from our official Telegram that convinced them to do that. And it got people and they would come to us like what the hell and we're just like well we can't control that right we don't have 24/7 coverage with multiple moderators to like really go after it we just didn't have that so sorry.
Nick: Cool well on that note guys thanks for the great dev call yeah looking forward next week so timeline for the vote kicks off tomorrow be sure to go vote is up live for a week vote will end next Tuesday presumably at two and then there's a one-day long dispute period so then Tellor will be live on mainnet on 360. fingers crossed two o'clock next Wednesday so woohoo let's do it guys all right great job team talk to y'all next week.
