I discarded WhatsApp Long Ago
I tested WhatsApp for about a year during 2018. My school batchmates insisted that I join the alumni group.
When I joined, I was happy to see our friends' posts. Later the volume of posts increased. The quality of posts degraded with time. I used it for about a year. Then, I had to leave.
Finally, I quit WhatsApp and uninstalled WhatsApp from my mobile. I joined Telegram.

The news reports showed accounts hacking in WhatsApp
Account hacking and data breaches are not uncommon on WhatsApp.
Many prominent peoples' accounts, including that of Jeff Bezos, were compromised on WhatsApp.
There were many reports of security breaches in WhatsApp space.
As of May 15, 2021, WhatsApp shares data with its parent company Facebook, and users won’t avoid this distribution like they previously could.
