Use Separate Emails for Banking and Social Media

By Debesh Choudhury | TechFuture | 14 Jan 2023

I start by disclosing the topic in the title itself.

Using emails is very common in the Internet-driven society. Who can live without emails? There may be some people who don't or never use email facilities.

Who hasn't used emails? They are not very few in number. A big chunk of global citizens doesn't have the facilities of modern life!

  • They are either very old and senior citizens or live in rural areas and don't have the facilities and awareness of modern life.

The problem lies in the fact that many governments couldn't yet provide the facilities of modern technologies to all the citizens.

Don't mix all emails in the same email address.

  • Do you use a single email address for all your online accounts in cyberspace?

If the answer is yes, then you are probably not doing the right thing!

Mixing all emails in a single email address is not good for two main reasons:

  1. A single email address makes your digital life clumsy.

  2. Using the same email address for everything, including banking, cryptocurrencies, social media, and other purposes, are vulnerable.

So, don't mix all your emails in the same email address.

Don't use the same email address for online banking, cryptocurrencies, social media, and other purposes.

  • Try using separate email addresses for different purposes.

  • Use a separate email address, especially for financial purposes like banking, cryptocurrencies, investment portfolios, etc.

  • Use a different email address for social media and similar online activities.

It is a good strategy to use different email addresses for specific purposes. It can help remove digital vulnerabilities to your digital identity.

Read my earlier article, [Passwords Are Not "Dead"]

Passwords are not at all "dead," but it is vital to use them responsibly and consider using other appropriate authentication methods.

Passwords have been more predominant and indispensable in providing online data security of the global Internet users.

I created a GIF for my last article using my texts and a photo from Unsplash.
