So gambling is a scam I've realized...if you dont read the fine print.

I was suckered into putting $500 onto Bovada because they had a 75% deposit bonus. As soon as I deposited the money I was sitting pretty with ---. WHat was the worst that could happen? Turns out a lot. I wanted to bet on the Super Bowl and was not planning on even spending half the value gambling. Maybe max 150 bucks.

In the meantime I played Blackjack. Classic game, I know the strategies, closest casino odds to even, when to hold em fold em, etc. So I'm feeling pretty good about myself making a little money and I was just buying in at 1, 2 maybe 5 dollars. Problem came later when I got more adventurous.

First of all always play one deck or classic blackjack, you get better odds, second, stop while your ahead...I had been up to $1500 more cash than I had seen in my bank account at once in a long time. When you're up big, you don't care as much about those winnings.

And then you start to take more risks. I was going all in just to try to get back to even. On multiple occasions! I should've stopped then as well. But by this point I was playing for something. My locked funds...

I didn't notice that when the money was deposited my money was locked. I had to bet or gamble an exorbitant amount just to retrieve it. I was tying to get any of my money back not all!

I knew I got robbed and sent a strongly worded email to their team. Like that would do anything...

It was a wash and I was broke, having losing my bets on the Chiefs in the Super Bowl.

Fortunately, I did hedge Tom Brady winning Super Bowl MVP which won me 400 of the 5 I still felt swindled on. 

Morale of the story. read the fine print and obligations of the bonus and promos...Luckily I got out rather unscathed.
