While there is not much new on Rollercoin yet (we're all waiting on their anniversary event I think!) I've been playing Splinterlands and having a lot of fun with it. As mentioned in an earlier post it can be kind of annoying but as I play more games I'm getting a bit better at making up teams with the starter cards and it feels like I'm making progress.
First things first, feel free to just go to their website directly but if Splinterlands interests you I'd be very happy if you joined up with my referral link:

Starting off with a progress report -
Day 5 - Fire Quest (win 5 times using Fire Summoner) - this was great, I've found a good team that seemed to win a lot was based around the following starter cards:
- Pyre - Summoner that gives bonus speed;
- Living Lava - Seems to be a solid tank and has reduced damage from Melee and Ranged which is great at this level - a number of basic cards do 0 damage to it;
- Fire Elemental (Ranged with Splash), Serpentine Spy (Opportunity), Fire Beetle (Sniper), Goblin Fireballer (ranged only 2 mana) all seem to do good damage and combined with Pyre can do it quite quickly.
The main thing I have learned is that Speed rating makes a big difference - the more speed the better as you get your damage off earlier and hopefully take out some of the opponents before they get to attack!
From the Fire Quest I got a bonus 14.79 (or something like that) DEC - so my balance is now 36 DEC! much better than the 0 I started off with.
Giveaway - I don't know whether this is common, for everyone or anything like that but when I logged in today I got a giveaway - a free card:

Not sure where/who/how but I'll take it and Thanks to wherever it came from. Not sure if its a very useful card but I now own four cards so thats better than none!
On the recommendation of m3ss who posts here I took a look at Monstermarket.io and I found out the following:
- I didn't really understand it but Splinterlands runs on the "Hive" blockchain and you get a wallet/account set up automatically when you sign up to Splinterlands;
- You need the username and password for this to use Monstermarket (unless I am mistaken) - once you login with the username and PRIVATE posting key you can interact with the market;
- To get your Hive keys you need to:
- In Splinterlands go to the top-right of the screen (on PC), click on your account avatar to bring up a menu in which there will be an item that says "Request Account Keys" and then follow their instructions. - Apparently I have 500 in game credits (not DEC) probably from using m3ss's referral code but I'm not sure;
- I found out that 39 DEC doesn't get you very far - I've probably got a way to go yet....
I will keep earning DEC for now and eventually get some cards from the Market - apparently you get 3% "cashback" when you purchase there so it's like there's a bit of a discount for using their market.
So that's it for now, hope you found the "progress report" interesting and that if you're interest in Splinterlands you'll give it a go (hopefully with my referral code!)
