As my journey continued one PTC (paid to click) advertisement on Cointiply led me to Cryptotab Browser.

I didn't get a chance to try it but I believe if you use a referral link (mine would be great) there's a bonus cloud boost when you start - No guarantees but that's something I saw AFTER I started!

So what is Cryptotab Browser? In Crytotab Browsers own words:

CryptoTab Browser is a free lightweight browser empowered with additional functionality for Bitcoin mining. It can be personalized according to your wishes with thousands of available extensions to extend the browser’s functionality and make your browsing experience fast and comfortable.

As I understand it it is basically a chrome browser with a built in extension that allows you to, to a certain extent, use your computers CPU power to mine for Bitcoin - Now this might raise red-flags and be a bit scary but all of the research I did seemed to indicate that it is legitimate and that it is not cryptojacking or anything like that.

So I decided to give it a shot - in fact I'm using their browser now to write this post and am earning bitcoin at the same time.

It's quite easy to set up - you need a Google account, Facebook, Twitter or VK account to link to the browser and that will be your account for earning bitcoin.

Once done you click on the orange cryptotab extension button and you can start mining.  On this laptop it can do 1,720.5 H/s - thats not much but over the course of about a week its generated about 0.00001467 Satoshi.  That's only about USD0.45 but its better than nothing.

In addition to the Laptop you can also download their browser to an Apple or Android phone - Apple which I use seems to be crippled to only 60-90 H/s but apparently on Android you can do a 1500 H/s or more.

As I understand it, and as I have been doing is running the browser and earning a small amount of coin.  My plan when I first started using the Browser was to use it to put in BTC into Rollercoin - If you play Rollercoin games on the Cryptotab Browser while it's mining it seems like a great way to increase your progress with minimal effort.

I haven't experienced the browser using too much power or slowing my laptop down even when it is using "maximum" mining speed which is great - your mileage may vary if you give it a shot.  

One note I will make is that if you use it on Mobile it is not using your phones power - it is actually just cloud mining on their own servers so you don't need to worry about your phone battery!

So that's the Cryptotab browser in a nutshell.  I can say that in my research I saw a lot about using multiple android phones to set up a cryptotab mining farm - sounds very enticing but I haven't got an Android phone so I cant give it a try.  The following search is one I did previously and there's a lot of videos on phone farming!

One other thing - apparently you can increase your mining power buy up to 15 times with their "Cloud Boost" function (and you get a small boost if you use a referral code apparently) - you need to pay for that so I haven't tried it yet but some of the people on YouTube using Cryptofarming seem to have gotten a lot of mileage out of it.
