What is Prospectors?
Prospectors is a massive multiplayer online economic simulation game. You mine gold and other resources and create products to sell on the open market. The market dictates the prices. When you have earned enough gold, you can turn your PGL into EOS or WAX and cash out whenever you want. At the time of this writing the value of PGL is around $.14.
WAX was just listed on Binance and has Doubled in value in the last week. PGL has crept up a bit with it.
How do you get PGL? First you must get EOS or WAX. There are other tokens you can use as well. If you check Alcor, you may find a pairing with a coin you already have. You can even create your own pairing. Along with Binance there are a few places you can buy WAX. There are many places to buy EOS. You can use Newdex to buy PGL with EOS. I believe that is the cheapest way. You can also use Alcor and Buy with EOS or WAX or even some other tokens. It is a bit more expensive right now on Alcor because of Binance listing WAX.
Currently held on 2 servers called Wild West on Eos Chain and Yukon on WAX Chain. Each player can have 1 account on each server. You will get 3 workers on each server. You can play for free but it does help to put in $5-10 to get started. Especially since the economy in the 2 current lands are winding down.
You will need a wallet for each Chain. I use Wombat for EOS and Wax Cloud Wallet for WAX. You may need to stake a small amount for CPU and RAM resources which gives you the ability to transact on those blockchains.
People often ask "What kind of ROI do you get?" Truth is, this is a complex game. ROI depends on how well you play the game. It is NOT passive income. You come in a few times a day to set your daily tasks, and go back to real life. At first, it all seemed pretty paltry. But I really enjoyed the game and it is an amazing economics course for my daughter. But then the price of goods and PGL skyrockets. PGL went up more than tenfold. The price of stone went from 4 Gold per KG all the way up to 130 Gold per KG. And I had a lot of stone. All of a sudden my earnings were in the thousands.
Wow. From playing a game.
So where are we now?
Prospectors is about to release a new land that is double in size with 4 times as much gold. 70 million PGL worth in fact.
How much is that in USD?
$.14 x 70,000,000 = $9,800,000
It will cost to extract that gold. So cut that in half perhaps? We do not know all the parameters but half is a very safe bet.
So $5 Million in PGL. That does not even include the value from the many other resources.
For example, there will be 40 Million KG of Stone. The current value of that is $400,000 before expenses. A lot with Stone and Perhaps Clay will easily be worth more than $200.
You have a 1 in 10 chance to get a plot with Gold on it. A minimum of 50,000 PGL with a current market value of $7000 before expenses. A maximum of 100,000 PGL and you are looking at $14,000 before expenses.
- 200 Gold Plots with 100 000 PGL
- 400 Gold Plots with 75 000 PGL
- 400 Gold Plots with 50 000 PGL
Of course PGL could tank. WAX could tank. Bitcoin could tank. That is the environment we live in. So please understand that this is NOT financial advice. I see opportunity, but it may vanish overnight. I love that thrill.

$180 for a 1 in 10 chance at $5000. $1800 for a mathematical probability of 100% (you still may not get a gold plot ... or you might get 3 if you are super lucky). Plus you get the value from the other resources as well.
