Known as a detractor and for proposing that Covid19 is a hoax. Donald Trump the sitting president of the United States has released that he tested positive for the virus, where else .. but on twitter.

Its seriousness remains to be seen. Trump currently says that he "feels fine". However Trump is 74 years old as well as obese, which tends to have worse outcomes for this virus. If this is due to 'preexisting conditions' like diabetes is not known. It is suspescted that he caught the virus from a close aid Hope Hicks. 

Hicks tested positive on Thursday morning, and Trump still attended a fundraiser at his golf course in New Jersey that same afternoon, knowingly potentially exposing staffers and supporters.

While main new outlets report this story, some circles on social media worry that the announcement itself is a hoax. A propaganda tool used to make Trump appear more human and improve his image ahead of the election, and to help downplay the seriousness of the virus once he quickly 'recovers'. 

A similar uptick in popularity followed UKs Boris Johnsons announcement of having contracted the virus earlier this year. 

The news has rattled an already fractured and uncertain financial market. The Yen hit the sharpest high in more than a month on the back of this news, as well as the doller up 0.7% before both pulling back due to the uncertainty of the situation
