GXChain (GXC) is a data-focused blockchain based platform that is building a “trusted data internet of value.” Launched in 2016 by MQ Huang and Cheng Wang, the team has described the project as one that will provide an industrial level permissionless blockchain supported by millions of real, ID verified users.
As a project that wishes to serve the global data economy, GXChain is taking several steps to ensure that the network is secure. GXChain uses the Graphene blockchain architecture and a Delegated Proof-of-Stake (DPoS) consensus algorithm in its network of trusted data modules. The functions associated with this data include storage, computation and exchange.
There are 3 major features that stand out in the GXChain ecosystem: “Blockcity”, a P2P marketplace and a data matrix.
Blockcity is a large scale mobile app which is akin to a DApp platform. The team has said that it is incentivizing users to use the app through mining rewards. For the moment, it is focusing on commercializing the DApp space. In the future, it aims to help users better control and monetize their data.
The P2P data marketplace is a marketplace where companies can purchase data, more securely and cheaply. The data matrix is focused on customers, giving them the power to acquire data easily, and do such things as analyze user images, improve risk control skills and support Software-as-a-Service.
Development progress in the first two quarters of 2019 has been focused on Trusted Execution Environments (TEE) for data security and privacy; Oracle machine development, for the expansion of the GXChain Virtual Machine; and GXChain 2.0 development, which is expected soon.
