🛠 PRODUCT: Massive Swash app growth — 300 THOUSAND users and counting!
At the time of the IDO (Q421), the Swash app had less than 100K users.
Today, exactly one year later, the app is quickly approaching 350K users! With each app update, new mechanisms are being added to deter bots and to bring more value to real Swash Data Union members.
As the Swash Data Union grows, so does the value real users receive.

⚔ AMPlify Swash Ambassador Program
Some major community efforts have launched over the last year, including various staking programs, competitions, AMAs and, of course, the AMPlify Swash Ambassador program!

🪙 TOKEN: The launch of Swash Smoke — 6 ongoing token burn mechanisms
Swash Smoke — the group of token burn mechanisms for the Swash ecosystem — is a result of thorough research of proven best practices by notable projects with successful token burn initiatives, such as Binance, Polkadot, Shiba Inu, and IoTeX.
Token burning is an effective mechanism for incentivising ecosystem stakeholders and limiting the supply of tokens, typically with objectives-based or time-based conditions. Swash is launching 6 different burn mechanisms based on $SWASH tokenomics.
Taken from the Ecosystem & DAO Growth and Community & Platform Rewards pools, 10% of the total supply will be burnt (aka 100 million $SWASH). The rest will be for referrals, airdrops, staking programs, and to launch the Swash DAO!

A revamp for Swash app, inspired by Brave New World
Swash’s app emerged as a fully-fledged solution in late 2019, enabling individuals to earn while they surf the web. One of the key elements that bolstered the adoption of the Swash extension is its cross-browser support, taking away any friction, so you can take ownership over your data without changing your habits.
The Swash app had a facelift in Q321, based on a new brand identity centred around the idea of a Brave New World. The app UX/UI has since been updated to include:
- Data for Good — Swash’s native donations feature
- Profile section for you to verify your identity and introduce yourself
- Product tour for all the different features within the app
- A history section for all of your transactions
🛠 PRODUCT: Data for Good — Donate to causes you believe in and trigger Swash to donate AND burn!
Donate to charities with one-off donations or as an ongoing supporter
Data for Good is a donations feature available within the Swash app which enables members to automatically donate the value of their data to a social good organisation of their choice. It’s now live and available to all Swash Data Union members.
So, how does it work?
Keep scrolling for a detailed overview, but it’s as simple as:
- Choose a charity to donate to from the list
- Select what percentage of your earnings you want to donate and how often
- Surf the web as normal!
Once installed, Swash allows people to earn for the value of their data as they browse, without having to do anything differently. This ease of use is crucial for adoption which is why the donations feature should be equally as frictionless.
The Data for Good feature allows you to search and browse the list of charities, filter by relevant tags, and determine whether you want to make a one-off donation or set up a recurring one with a percentage of your Swash earnings each month.

🌊 ECOSYSTEM: The ongoing DAO Ignition campaign ahead of launching the Swash DAO next year
The DAO Ignition campaign is here to kickstart the Swash DAO. By doing so, it will bring Swash closer to decentralisation by enabling Swash token holders to take more ownership over the future direction of the movement and to attract the most people to join the DAO from day one.
By entering, you can:
- Be in to win the grand prize of up to 300K USDT
- Trigger Swash to burn up to 5M $SWASH
- Become a DAO Early Bird member
- Trigger Swash to donate 100K USDT to charity
- Be part of Swash reaching the top 200 tokens
The campaign will begin on February 15 2022 and will be live for one year, until February 15 2023. Its purpose is to kickstart the Swash DAO and to boost $SWASH token adoption across all chains — currently Ethereum, Gnosis Chain (xDai) and Polygon.
For every person who qualifies, Swash will add 20 USDT to the prize amount until reaching a cap of 300K USDT. One lucky winner will take home the grand prize, and all participants will automatically be considered DAO early bird members! The strongest and longest holders will be able to run for the DAO Steering Committee.
As part of the Swash Smoke token burn campaign, Swash will burn 10% of the monthly average of the amount held by the community for the duration of the DAO campaign until burning a max of 5M $SWASH.
Additionally, If the prize reaches 300K USDT, Swash will also make a donation of 100K USDT to charity as part of the Data for Good program.
At the end of the campaign, the DAO will be live, the winner of the 300K USDT prize will be selected, Swash will have burnt 5M tokens, and made a donation to charity!

Dec 2022: sApps launch with the initial release of sAds!
Get ready for December 2022 for the first release of sApp!
Following the Swash x Adshares partnership in Q222, Swash will have its own ad server on Adshares’ network whilst also being able to publish and subscribe to other existing publisher and advertiser networks.
sAds will launch in beta first. Once tested, it will be scaled up, enabling users to opt-in to earn more by seeing ads with different options. It will be the first real life use case of sApps as detailed in the Swash whitepaper.
