I’ve just been broken up with for “not being emotionally available”.
I see things differently.
Imagine we are friends and you are really into cars.
You feel like it, and tell me everything about the role cars played at different points in your life.
Cars, makes, engines, tires, brakes, spark plugs, clutches, gears…
Then you ask me, what about you.
I say, yesterday I saw a white Lotus Evora. I liked it.
My answer disappoints you.
You expected me to match what you shared and tell you all about the cars in my life.
Just because you felt like talking about it, do I owe you the same?
What if I am not so much into talking about cars as you are?
I mean, I like cars. I just don’t enjoy feeling obliged to match what you feel like putting on the table.
Now, replace the word cars with the word feelings.
Do you get my point?
We still have the here and now.
What about having a moment together?
