You scroll through Instagram and find a video you like. You especially like the part at 0.22 or you didn't hear what they said at that point. Now what? let's rewind. But guess what? You can't rewind the video. There is no touch-enabled fast-forward like YouTube. There is no visible progress line. a timeline, if you will. You just have to re-watch the whole video from the beginning. Now you want to see the part at 0.30 again, but guess what, you just can't do that there. You have to re-watch the whole video. It sucks. I know.

Instagram says it's like that because they want to keep users engaged for longer. But if you ask me, I would say that is one of the lowest ways to treat coustomers. Everybody has the same 24 hours a day and they love their time. It's not that you can't give that courtesy. It's just you don't want to. You just want people to be on your platform for longer. any means necessary. I find it very wrong, and it's funny that even new short video platforms have timelines but you don't.

So, create a visible progression line that everyone can benefit from.
