Last week I got an email from one of the Bitcoin faucets I still use. The email said to allow access to my account from a different IP address. I realized someone tried to log into my account and steal my Bitcoin. You must know that it's not a good idea to keep your Bitcoins on an exchange website. but it is also important to periodically withdraw your earned Bitcoins from Faucet websites as anyone can log into your account using brute force methods. brute forcing can be very easy if you use very simple passwords. In my case, that was my mistake. I used a very simple password and kept my earned Bitcoin on the website for so long.

So I had to take extreme measures to save my Bitcoin. I immediately logged into my account and changed my password to a new stronger one because the current password at that time was a simple password that I created years ago. So remember to change your passwords from time to time. that is one of my suggestions for you to be safe from hacking attempts. The second thing I did was transfer my all Bitcoin into a non-custodial wallet that only I could access. even though the Faucet website gave an interest for the bitcoin you keep there I had to take this extreme measure because I thought that the same hacker or another one could try to steal my Bitcoin again if they can see it is in my account. better safe than sorry. right guys?

So the advice I want to give you today is to take your online security seriously. even if you only have a small amount of crypto make sure no one can steal it as you worked hard for them. remember to use strong passwords and change them from time to time. if you have a huge sum of Bitcoin in an exchange or earning website I recommend you move them into a non-custodial wallet only you can access. but remember when you do that no one can help you recover funds if you lose your recovery phrase. so keep it in a safe place too.
