This story is an adaptation of one of Esop's fables.
Once upon a time, in a small village in the mountains there were two dogs. Billie was always happy and full of energy and Woolf was often moody and temperamental. Their owners often left them unleashed and they were free to roam around seeking adventures. One day they came across a clear stream, and as they bent down to drink, they saw their reflections in the water. The happy dog was delighted to see his own image, and wagged his tail in joy. However, the angry dog was furious when he saw his reflection, thinking that another dog was there to challenge him. Woolf, the angry dog started barking and growling at his own reflection, and even tried to attack it, but of course, it was only his own image. The more he barked and snarled, the more agitated he became, and he finally collapsed from exhaustion. Billie, the happy dog, on the other hand, simply enjoyed seeing his own image and went on his way.
Life is like that stream, it mirrors your thoughts and attitude. Going to work grumpy will make people treat you with disdain or avoid you. But a smile on your face will make people smile back. Your life begins in your mind. You can choose which thoughts to focus on and it will change your day.
