Share your battle: River Nymph in Silver

Hello Battlemages!

This week we go with River Nymph, an easy support for Water.

The River Nymph is a Rare Water monster. She costs 4 mana, and despite not-so-good stats, she's useful if not mandatory as soon as level 1, under the right circumstances.
At level 1, she has 1 magic attack, 2 Speed and 3 Health. Not that great? Well, she also has the Cleanse ability, and that's why you will want her! She indeed offers a cheap Cleanse (mana or rarity wise) right away.
She will also get Amplify at level 4, well, I'm not sure about the usefulness of that one.
And Swiftness at level 8 is a nice bonus!

All-in-one, she's a cheap support. Her attack won't be decisive, but it's magic and it will stack up. She will often be ignored until the right ruleset appears.

The battle

The battle plays in Silver Modern. It is open to Fire, Water and Dragon. It has a 28 mana cap and its ruleset is Silenced Summoners and Toxic Fumes.

I like Fire with Toxic Fumes, but with the summoners silenced and the low-ish mana cap, I decided to go with Water, where our River Nymph can run her magic.

The lineup

For Toxic Fumes, I want monsters with high health to survive the longest possible, and I want to focus the attacks on the front, where the opponent is usually cleansed.

So I decided to go with Kelya Frendul as summoner, it doesn't matter much as he's silenced anyway.
First position: Diemonshark, high health, high armor, it's the best probability to survive longer as it's the monster that going to be Cleansed.
Second position: Djinn Oshannus, for its high health and magic attack, he's gonna die of poison but can at least last a bit
Third position: our River Nymph, for her Cleanse, mandatory with Toxic Fumes
Fourth position: Xenith Monk, the little twist, just in case, possibly he can make it to the end with his Healing.

In face, my opponent (LEOGxxxx damn I hate this bot farm) went with Fire.
Scorch Fiend to take the first hit
Living Lava as real tank
Radiated Brute as off-tank with Reach
Tenyii Striker with the Sneak
Djinn Apprentice for the magic attack
and Scavo Chemist for the Cleanse

Round 1

The Fiend took its hit, both tanks got cleansed and hopefully the Radiated Brute missed his attack as there's already not much left of my Diemonshark armor.

Round 2

Both Living Lava and Radiated Brute missed their attack, while my magic attacks start to seriously diminish the Living Lava. The Toxic Fumes claimed its first victims: Djinn Apprentice, Scavo Chemist and River Nymph.

Round 3

It doesn't smell good for my opponent. My Djinn Oshannus will fire first, killing the Living Lava, and then we can just let the poison do its job.
But Diemonshark actually finished beautifully the battle with Trample, killing the last 2 remaining monsters! Well done!

Takeaway

Who was the MVP of the battle?
Diemonshark dodged 3 attacks and finished with brio.
But he would have died without River Nymph.
Djinn Oshannus was the damage dealer, countering the Shield of the Living Lava, and even poisoned he could have go a few more rounds.
Xenith Monk didn't do much, but he did contained the attacks on the back, possibly sparing the Djinn.

I can't really decide, so let's call it teamwork! Each monster played its part toward the victory.

In conclusion, River Nymph is a must-have. I don't use her often, but when it comes to Toxic Fumes and Water, you definitely want her on your side!
