Spirit of the Forest - Splinterlands Legendary Profile

By Chris Roberts | SplinterLore | 21 Jun 2020

Anumün,

I sing to thee!

The savage, simple,

Wild and free!

The Tree that is,

The Seed that was,

The Spirit great

As what she does.

Spirit of the Forest

Splinter - Anumün

Class - Tank Healer, Range Sniper

Size - 35 Chickens. The Spirit of the Forest can take many physical forms of varying sizes. In battle, she appears as a sort of humanoid tree. She is a tall, slender, attractive woman with green skin and leafy growth for hair. This is her preferred manifestation, but everyone knows that she makes rounds throughout the Splinterlands as different unrecognizable characters.

Lifespan - The Spirit is one of the ancient creators of life on the Planet. She has grown and changed so much since the crash of the Seed some 5000 years ago. She has not aged, but only grown in power and magic. Unless her life is cut short by an enemy, the Spirit of the Forest will always be with the Planet, watching her people and fostering their growth.

Weapon - Growth can be a weapon just as easily as a sword, bow or spear. The greatest power of the Spirit lies in her ability to quickly create life. She has especially rapid control over plant growth, which she can use to either destroy or heal. She sometimes carries a gnarled branch high in her right hand. This branch is more powerful than it looks. It is the Spirit Sprig, a magic wand that would cause worldwide havoc if it fell into the wrong hands.

Habitat - The Eldest Tree has been hidden for years, shrouded by magic. The Spirit lives deep in the impenetrable Hungry Wood. She rests there and protects what little water still flows through the River of Wisdom. The tree is the Spirit, and the Spirit is the tree. She must stay safe for her people, so no one is allowed access to the Spirit’s Grove and the Hungry Wood.

Diet - The Spirit of the Forest has no need with food, except food for her people. Still, she especially enjoys eating the fruits of her trees, which brings her into deeper communion with the plants of Anumün. She keeps a close watch on the food supply to not only the Earth Splinter, but the Lyverian and Gobson supply chains that bring food to the whole world. The only water that matters to the Spirit is the water that flows through her three magic rivers; The River of Life, the River of Power and the River of Wisdom.

Allies - In her desire to protect her people, the Spirit of the Forest has grown suspicious of anyone she may have considered friend. The Magi of the Forest and Kron the Undying of the Centauri are the only two in whom she confides. The Magi of the Forest even spends some of his time with her in the Spirit’s Grove, one of the most secret places in the Splinterlands.

Enemies - The Lord of Darkness embodies the Spirit of the Forest’s greatest fear. She would never let this ruler of death near the Eldest Tree. Life would triumph in the great unending war, even if the most the Spirit could do was hide. The Death Splinter has always been her greatest fear, but in recent years, the Gloridax have been groping for power and scheming through the Mount Mox tournaments. The Spirit is concerned about the Dragons’ activities, knowing that they still worship Helio, a nightmarish tyrant from the ancient past.

Pastimes - Throughout history, the Spirit of the Forest has appeared in seemingly random times and places as an old woman with a twinkle of green in her eye. There are some tales of her bestowing blessings onto those she visits, and at times she has, but she simply enjoys being among her people. The Spirit of the Forest makes one Lyverian public appearance each year, at the festival known as Spirit Name Day. On this kindgom-wide celebration of harvest, all Lyverians come together and attempt to guess the name of the Spirit of the Forest. It is only for fun; she is well aware that no one will ever guess her name.
