Hey guys,

we have a new Battle Challenge and it's with Magi Necrosi. Unfortunately I don't have my death splinter leveled up, so I wasn't able to give you a good battle in gold league with the card. I therefore decided to share a battle with another epic card: Noa The Just

💥You can watch the full battle here!💥

Noa The Just is an epic water splinter card from the new soulbound reward card set. He has no attack but very speed and decent health and armor.

Abilities

  • Level 1 - Rust
  • Level 3 - Dodge
  • Level 5 - Backfire
  • Level 6 - Martyr

He also comes with a bunch of abilities. With Rust at level one he is a very useful support card that can also work as a tank in mid mana battles. Gaining Dodge at level 3 and Backfire at level 5 he becomes a real beast as a cheap tank, being able to dodge a lot with the speed and abilities and also deal some damage back with Backfire. Martyr is interesting, because it only triggers when the card that has it dies and you kind of want this one to stay alive, so we'll have to see how this works best when we have more gameplay.

I personally think the card is really strong and can be used as a tank, off-tank in the second spot and snipe blocker and sneak blocker in the last spot.

Since this card is soulbound and can't be traded for now there is no price and market data. You can simply acquire this card by playing the game and opening reward chests. I only have a level 1 copy myself so far, but I think I put it to good use already and I'll show you how!

The Ruleset 23wMPvVoLzzuJkqpse9yDXstAiTdB9wUNHpQKfi4jUaPDKawc4EwieoEWQs9pzte1gcTV.png

The rules for this battle were Stampede (every monster has Trample) and Odd ones out (only monsters with odd mana cast playable), with 21 mana and Water, Earth and Life available.

The Line Up & Strategy

Design ohne Titel.png

With the Odd ones out rule my options were obviously limited. I went with Kelya for my summoner, because I don't own an earth team and water offered a bit more utility than life.

For my tank I went with Cruel Sethropod, which is just an amazing low mana tank with decent health and armor and perfect for 21 mana battles.

For my damage I went with the sneak dream team Pelacor Bandit and Uraeus, who both attack the backline and have great damage for their mana cost.

Lastly I went with two support cards in form of Merdaali Guardian for the Heal and Repair and Noa The Just in the very back spot for the Rust and to protect myself against enemy sneak attacks.

My strategy was very simple: Have Sethropod tank the frontline damage and Noa tank the backline damage with the Guardian repairing and healing them, so that Bandit and Uraeus are able to take out the enemies backline piece by piece.

The Battle

My opponent went for a Lux Vega with earth - which is essential just a better Kelya. They mixed up their damage, though. With only one sneak monster, one magic attacker and a bigger tank with heal with Pelacor Mercenary.

The game starts off by Bandit and Uraeus taking out their Chaos Agent (because Djinn Biljka has Camouflage). In return their Uraeus atacks my Noa and poisons him on the first hit.

Cruel Sethropod doesn't quite manage to take out the Mycelic Morphoid and takes 2 thorns damage, another 2 from the Morphoid which all hit armor and lastly another 2 damage from the Djinn Biljka which hits health.

Round 2

Noa survived the poison damage and Bandit and Uraeus take out the opponents Uraeus.

Merdaali Guardian heals and repairs Sethropod back to full health/armor, which then takes out the Morphoid, pulling the Pelacor Mercenary into first position.

The Djinn hits my Sethropod for 2 health again.

Round 3

Noa died to the poison (rip). Pelacor Bandit and Uraeus attack the Mercenary, because Biljka is still untargetable with its Camouflage ability.

The Mercenary heals itself for 3, but its attack only hits Sethropod's armor, where as Biljka's attack hits health.

From here on the battle is practically over and takes a lot of rounds, which I decided not to include, because it's just the same thing over and over again:

Mercenary heals himself for 3 and dodges an attack every now and then, which makes it last pretty long. However, Merdaali Guardian can out heal and repair Mercenary's and Biljka's attacks and makes the Sethropod more or less invincable. Eventually I manage to kill the Mercenary and win the game!

My strategy worked exactly as planned. In short: my opponent didn't manage to get through my main tank and my sneak attack duo took out one monster after another.

I want to go over how strong Noa The Just is for a second, though. Without his Rust ability I wouldn't have been able to take out Chaos Agent in one turn and the Uraeus in the other, because Lux Vega gives every monster +1 Armor. Without the Rust it would've taken me 4 turns, instead of 2 to take out the Uraeus, giving it enough time to get a hit off on my own Uraeus and landing a poison, which would have killed it and left me with not enough damage to take out the Mercenary later on. At the same time Noa blocked 2 attacks from Uraeus, again ensuring my own Uraeus or for that matter any card I would've put in the spot, survived.

This battle was fought in gold 1 early in the season, where it is very competitive and a simple level 1 card from the soulbound rewards, that I acquired through playing, was the game winner in this battle. This is absolutely amazing and I can't wait to get my hands on more of these cards and level them up.

Lastly looking at the stats I had a win chance of 99%, so no luck involved!
