Hi guys,

this weeks Battle Challenge is about Dhampir Stalker. Unfortunately I neither have a leveled up death summoner nor the Dhampir Stalker, so I decided to just share a cool battle instead.

The Card

I want to highlight Tusk the Wide, a melee attacking fire monster from the Chaos Legion set. For only 6 mana you get 12 health at level 1 which scales up all the way to 14 at max level. Same goes for the damage, which starts at 1 and increases to 3.

Tusk also has 2 abilities:

  • Level 1 - Void
  • Level 4 - Inspire

Void plus the high health allows for a great anti magic tank. Once he gets Inspire, which gives every monster on the team (including himself) +1 melee attack he can become quite deadly himself. Especially when paired with Tarsa who gives him even more health and attack.

With only 1 Speed throughout all levels he's definitely at a disadvantage and might have trouble hitting the opponent. However this becomes a great strength in Reverse Speed rule sets.

All in all I really like the card for its Void ability, high health and relatively cheap mana cost.

Price wise the card is more on the expensive side in comparison to other Chaos Legion epics. I personally think he offers a lot at level 1 already and it's not necessary to level him up until you can get him to level 4 where he gets strengthen.

The Ruleset EoATWN44wxgrjHcnYEGnA25daxY2rTg1sPU2RHJy5CZtCdcu5mJFmZ4raGFVrEp9fit.png The rule set for this battle was Silenced Summoners, with 25 mana and Fire, Death and Earth available for play.

The Line Up & Strategy

Design ohne Titel.png

I went with fire for this one, because I don't have an earth nor death deck. For battles with 20ish mana I always like to go with double sneak, because it's really strong and hard to defend with so little mana. Tenyii Striker and Uraeus were my main damage dealers for this battle.

I then thought about what my opponent would play and if they also went with the fire sneak strategy I wouldn't have to worry too much about my frontline tank. If they went with earth however they would very likely go magic heavy. That's why I went with a Tusk the Wide as my tank.

I put the Molten Ash Golem in the second spot, because it offers some good health to absorb a couple of hits once Tusk would die and the Weaken is always nice to have. Finally I put a Chaos Agent in the very back to defend against potential sneak attacks.

Round 1

Bildschirmfoto 2022-11-10 um 15.06.34.png

I speculated correctly - my opponent went for an earth magic team. And a quite nice one to say the least. Every thing is maxed out for gold league.

Slipspawn goes first hitting my Tusk for 1, followed by a very nice scattershot by Acid Shooter hitting my Uraeus and taking away both it's armor and 1 health with the cripple. Uraeus in turn lands a very important poison hit on Slipspawn and Tenyii and Ash Golem take it's health down to 6.

Both Spirit Hoarder and Queen Mycelia deal 0 damage to Tusk, because of his Void ability and Djinn Biljka also only hits for 1.

Round 2

Slipspawn gets hit by the poison, deals one damage to Tusk and then dies to Uraeus' and Tenyii's attacks. Acid Shooter hits the Molten Ash Golem, which is probably the best target, because of its high health. The Golem takes away Spirit Hoarders armor, which got pulled into first position and is now an easy target.

Again, only the Djinn deals 1 damage to Tusk, because of the Void.

Round 3

Acid Shooter attacks first and hits the Chaos Agent which instantly dies. Uraeus takes away Queen Mycelia's armor and also poisons her, but Tenyii finishes her off directly after, getting rid of the protect ability

Molten Ash Golem kills off the wounded Spirit Hoarder. Djinn deals another damage to Tusk, which in turn hits Acid Shooter for 1.

Round 4

Uraeus takes out Acid Shooter and Tenyii striker takes care of the Djinn Biljka, before either of them can do a thing, securing the win in the fourth round!

Conclusion

Without the +1 magic from Obsidian because of the Silenced Summoners rule the magic monsters dealt almost (or literally) no damage to my Tusk, while my two sneak attackers Uraeus and Tenyii Striker could pick off the opponents back line one by one. Molten Ash Golem also provided some nice damage and the Weaken ability.

With a win rate of 99% there was also no room for error which shows that I submitted the better line up.

Tusk did an amazing job at level 1 already and imagining him having 3 attack at level 4 (2 base attack + Strengthen) plus also giving both Uraeus and Tenyii one more attack each, is quite wild. I'll definitely be looking to upgrade him next!
