Phobies is a free to play card game that I play on Steam. It is also available on the App Store and Google Play.

There are 3 major currencies that you can earn in Phobies. Coffee Beans, tears, and XP. The first two can be used to purchase packs the latter is used to upgrade cards along with specific upgrade cards for each Phobie. You get Coffee Beans somewhat rarely. Tears are given upon the completion of each match you play. When one wins a match you get 300 tears. You get less than that for a loss. XP is given each turn you take in a match. 

Phobies are meant to be fears that one has. I have 50 of the over 130 Phobies. I have been playing approximately 6 months. Steam shows me with 437 hours. You can tell by that, that I enjoy playing Phobies. 

There are 2  main ways of playing Phobies. Each has their own rating/ranking system. I tend to play mostly Asynchronous. In "Async" I take a turn and can wait for the opponent to take their turn. Usually I have 10 to 20 matches going at once. Arena is the other mode of play. In Arena the match is played "live" with a clock to take each turn. I greatly prefer Asynchronous as I like to think a bit about each move. The untimed mode fits me better. They also have Challenges and Frenemies modes. In Challenges, they present you with a problem/situation and you complete it. In Frenemies mode, you can play people that are on your Friends list.

The only thing you will have to lose by checking out Phobies is the time you spend playing it.
