After what seems to have been an eternity, we are just under 7 days away from the end of this 60-day season event, and I dunno about you guys but I feel a few ways.
Thank F--- It's Over
This feeling comes mostly from the fact that I have been trying to get all the free points, which is at least 80 plays per day. This number was lowered from 100 plays in the 3rd season event, but still turns out to be a lot for 60 days in a row. This also means at least 15 plays per day of two of the highlighted/featured games, which was harder on some days than others. There was also other real stuff going on in my life, so I didn't get all the points on all the days like I wanted to, which leads me to my second feeling, which is...
Grrrrrr
As noted on my mining rates spreadsheet, I wasn't able to get all the points on all of the days. And because I missed out on the 80 plays and BOTH the 15 plays points on Sunday (12, 3, and 3) I'll likely finish with only 2785 points total. This is 15 points shy of the event trophy.

So even though I've planned and worked my butt off trying to get 2800 points, I'll miss out on that beautiful shiny set of pixels.
Why is this important to me? It doesn't do anything or grant any bonuses, so why does the knowledge that I won't reach it suddenly discourage me from playing?
I think the answer to this lies in the way that RollerCoin has been feeling a lot more "pay to win" than "play to earn" lately. I was pursuing this to try to convince myself that a free-to-player could still be relevant in an ecosystem where people are spending hundreds of dollars for an event pass so that they can just have all the stuff and not play during the event (plus the ability to buy multiple passes if they want more than one of things, or want to sell the things on the marketplace later). Turns out that may no longer be feasible.
Can anyone do it?
Probably.
Can I still get it done?
Not unless I get all the points for all the remaining days PLUS magic up another 18 points. Not likely.
Ways to achieve this include:
- Buy 3 loot crates for 5 points each
- Each costs 5 RLT, and gives me back 2 RLT
- Buy 2 loot crates in a single day
- This would give 5 points for the first crate and an additional 13 points for spending 10RLT in one day.
- This would only be possible if the first loot crate gave me back at least 5RLT.
- Buy at least 2 loot crates AND get at least one referral.
- Loot crates on 2 days for 5 points each.
- Referral is 11 points.
None of these things are likely to happen within the next week, as I have only 3.5RLT right now. I bought a crate on 5/9 for 5RLT and got 2 back, so it has legitimately taken me two full weeks to make that 1.5RLT.

For the 4th anniversary of the site they held art, writing, and miner-creating contests. Those who participated had the chance to put forth suggestions for a name for the hamster. I was REALLY hoping for "Hammy McHamsterface," but I suppose "Satoshi Hamstermoto" is okay too.
