#65 🔸 How to regain your energy when you feel lost

By luciman | SelfInvest | 9 Oct 2025

Have you ever felt like you’re running on autopilot, without really knowing where you’re heading? You get things done, tick off tasks, but at the end of the day there’s an emptiness inside, as if you’ve lost touch with yourself. It’s not just physical tiredness, but rather emotional and mental exhaustion.

This is a clear sign that your energy is no longer flowing in the right direction and it’s time to reconnect with yourself.

Why do we lose our energy?

Psychology often speaks about emotional drainage. When you use up your resources on things that don’t bring you meaning, fulfilment, or balance, your body and mind start sending signals. Sometimes these appear as irritability, other times as lack of motivation, or even as a constant sense of tiredness.

A common factor is the misalignment between what you do and what you feel. When you live too much in the world of “I have to”, you forget about “I want to”.

How can you regain your energy?

  1. Reconnect with small moments of joy.
A few minutes in nature, a quiet coffee, or journaling your thoughts can become true energy sources.

  2. Set healthy boundaries.
Your energy drops dramatically when you always say “yes” to others and “no” to yourself. Learning to refuse isn’t selfishness, it’s self-respect.

  3. Small changes bring big results.
You don’t have to radically change your life to feel vitality again. Sometimes it’s enough to adjust your morning routine or add a healthy habit.

  4. Listen to your body and mind.
When you feel like you can’t go on, a break isn’t a waste of time—it’s an act of wisdom.

A real example

A friend told me that after months of feeling stuck and drained, he committed to a simple ritual: a 20-minute walk every evening, without his phone. At first it felt trivial, but within a few weeks his sleep improved, his thoughts cleared up, and his energy began to return. It wasn’t a big change, but it was a step towards reconnecting with himself.

Conclusion

Your energy doesn’t simply vanish—it gets absorbed by the directions you choose (or accept) to send it. When you feel lost on the way, don’t judge yourself. See it as a wake-up call and as an invitation to reconfigure your path.

Regaining your energy doesn’t mean doing more—it means doing better for yourself.
