Hey guys!
For those not familiar with "Linden Dollars", it's the currency used in the virtual world of Second Life. To get it, Second Life users either buy it from Linden Lab or earn it from doing all kinds of in-world activities created and/or hosted by other Second Life users.
By the way, almost everything in Second Life were created by Second Life users. Linden Lab provided the platform, which is Second Life, and let the users create almost everything. From clothes avatars wear to the various games avatars play and much, much more.
In my case, I have never bought Linden Dollars. Any Linden Dollars I have came from selling things I created or from playing or participating in various activities that pay Linden Dollars. Examples are: Fishing Contests (yes, there's fishing in Second Life), Sploders, Fish Bowls, Trivias, Traffic Generating Games and others.
Now, one of the best ways of earning Linden Dollars is by simply making or creating things other Second Life users might need like clothes, games, etc. But, not everyone has skills or talents to create things and that's okay.
Even though, I create things and sell them, I still do other activities to earn Linden Dollars in Second Life. One of the easiest ways of earning Linden Dollars is doing Traffic Generating Games. These are games created to increase land traffic for land owners. A place with a high land traffic appears higher in classic Places search making it easier for other Second Life users to find.
Land owners pay for land traffic by providing Traffic Generating Games and the most popular ones are fishing type games like Virtual Fishing, Magic Fishing, FIsh Hunt and others.
The way this works is simple. Land owners buy a fishing buoy, place it somewhere on their land, add Linden Dollars to it and wait for Second Life users to get those Linden Dollars by simply fishing for them. Of course, Second Life users will need the fishing rod that matches the fishing buoy and, usually, the fishing rods are FREE.
With a fishing rod in hand, Second Life users just have stand near the fishing buoy, cast their fishing rods and wait for the cast timer to end. Information about the cast or catch will show in local chat like the name of the fish caught, experience points earned if any and others. But, the most important information is the amount of Linden Dollars earned.
Depending on the multiplier, a Second Life user can earn anything from less than 0.1 L$ to over 10 L$ per cast.
I know it's not much but it's easy and simple to do. The learning curve, if any, is almost flat. The only real investment is time and, it seems that, those in Second Life have a lot of time to spare. I know this because fishing type games that pay Linden Dollars are very popular in Second Life.
New Second Life users looking for Linden Dollars can start their new life by fishing for it. Once they have enough, they can use it to buy things to enhance the look of their avatars or pay for the upload cost of their creations to sell in the Marketplace to earn them even more Linden Dollars.
So, if you happen to find a place with a lot of avatars that are just standing there, holding their fishing rods and doing almost nothing around a fishing buoy then there is a big chance that they're fishing for Linden Dollars.
