I still consider myself new to XS Fishing or Xundra's Fishing in Second Life because there are still a lot of things I don't exactly know about it. For example, I just got into creating Fish Tanks for XS Fishing Breedable Fish. As for actually breeding fish, I haven't really delved into it and breeding fish is actually a big thing in XS Fishing.

The reason I got into XS Fishing in the first place were the XS Fishing Competitions or contest. When I learned about XS Fishing, one of the few things I looked into, was ways of earning Linden Dollars from it and XS Fishing Competitions came out on top. Participating in one will give me a chance to win Linden Dollars. Of course, it's a competition or a contest which means, winning is not guaranteed but I'll have a chance. Having a chance of winning is far better than not having any chances at all.

Since I started with XS Fishing, I've won a few fishing competitions. The last win happened just recently where I won 1,500 Linden Dollars and it happened after not winning and always placing last in almost a week. Will I win the next one? Most probably not but I'll still participate for the chance of winning.

Announcements of XS Fishing Competitions are done by those hosting or running the competitions by either posting about it in Group Chat or sending a Group Notification. These past couple of days, I've seen XS Fishing Competition announcements and notices but the competition or contest never happened.

For example, recently there was an announcement and notification about a 1,000 L$ XS Fishing Competition during a Breedable Auction Event. It was for 90 minutes but when I got there the competition never happened. I stayed for over an hour hoping for the competition would start but, yeah, it never did. Either the event organizer forgot about the contest, made a mistake in the announcement or just lied to get people to come over their event. It's 1,000 Linden Dollars, a lot of avatars or players in Second Life like myself will come to an event if such an amount was mentioned as a prize in any contest. Even if it was for a BINGO game, I will be there to participate.

Since, I'm still new to XS Fishing, I'm not sure if such a practice of announcing a competition and not doing it is something common to the XS Fishing community. I do hope it's not something that happens all the time in XS Fishing because it sucks. It's false advertising and it's basically just rude, impolite and disrespectful. If I did something like that, I'll get a ton of backlash from it but surprisingly no one seemed to care about the competition not starting or happening. I feel like I'm missing something very important here.

Anyway, moving forward, I'm thinking of just staying for half an hour and if the competition still hasn't started, I'll just simply leave and do something more productive and profitable like maybe Virtual Fishing or something similar.

Still, I do hope this is not a thing or something that is common in XS Fishing. If it is then maybe everyone was already used to it because it had happened so many times in the past. Which would explain why no one mentioned anything about it or talked about or complained about the XS Fishing Competition not starting.
