Do you remember Ice Cream Man?

That 1995 American film directed by Paul Norman starring Clint Howard as a mad, murderous ice cream man who drives around selling ice cream in his van?

It's a summer classic for me now.

Not that it's a masterpiece but I've always enjoyed it thanks to Clint Howard's charisma.

A few years ago by chance I came across an American film from 2017 that reminded me a bit of it.

It is called ''The ice cream truck'' directed by Megan Freels Johnston.

There is this woman who returns after many years to the town where she grew up and where a guy who sells ice cream with her van starts killing people.

The electronic soundtrack from the 80s is beautiful, the atmosphere a bit David Lynch is beautiful, the actors are good.

To stay on the subject for a bit, I remember 2 episodes of 2 horror TV series.

The first is People Who Lives in Brass Hearses directed by Russell Mulcahy for the TV series Tales from the crypt.

For the uninitiated, the TV series is based on the comics of the same title by EC Comics published from 1950 to 1955 in the United States.

Just to clarify, this is the fifth episode of season number 5 of Tales from the crypt of 1993.

The plot in a nutshell:

A short-tempered ex-con with a butter addiction seeks revenge, with the help of his mentally ill brother, on the ice cream truck driver responsible for his arrest, unaware that the driver is harboring a dark secret.

Personally I liked it.

Directed by Russell Mulcahy (Australian director best known for Highlander) I don't mind and also seeing actors like Bill Paxton, Brad Dourif and Michael Lerner is always nice.

The second is We All Scream for Ice-Cream directed by Tom Holland (who many horror fans will already know) for the TV series Masters of Horror season 2 of 2007.

A guy dressed as a clown who sells ice cream with his van is killed by kids who wanted to play a joke on him (he will be run over by his own ice cream van) and years later he will take revenge on them.

I have to say that everything is very dull and quite boring, directing, actors, music.
