You could easily name a greater percentage of cryptocurrency projects without a token or coin. Native tokens are becoming inevitable for cryptocurrency projects. Independent blockchain networks, this is essential as every blockchain network needs gas to operate. Gas fees are in turn paid in the blockchain’s native token. This isn’t the same for projects issuing tokens.
Tokens might fit in properly for a lot of cryptocurrency projects, but the fact remains that a good percentage don’t have a good utility for their native tokens and only drive the token’s value through marketing and artificial trading practices. The token mostly exists to fuel the project’s economy and not give holders reasonable privilege.
MOSDEX is well-positioned to join the ranks of tokenized crypto projects. Currently, the MOSDEX arbitrage trading protocol powers the ecosystem. Revenue from successful trades is used to reward stakers and sustain technological developments. The arbitrage protocol trades arbitrages between pairs and exchanges and returns a profit that is divided between stakers and the project management. The same goes for the next trade run and continues for as long as the protocol and financial system exist in the same space.
Does MOSDEX need a token to operate? A personal opinion, but I’d say a strong NO. fortunately, the team hasn’t shared any plans of launching a token in the near future. For a project like MOSDEX, a native token will be useful in incentivization programs and will relieve the bot of several financial responsibilities. This probably provides the project with more financial grounds to run and makes it even more popular, but this eventually distorts the project and opens it up for the perils of managing a token.
Drops in token price can be perceived in many ways, including a potential team exit and a clandestine protocol dysfunction. Project tokens are known to be the face of tokenized projects, for MOSDEX currently, the arbitrage protocol is the ultimate face of the project and will probably remain so for a long period until the team decides to launch a token or any other similar development.
You’d trust any average team to struggle with managing tokens. The extra involvement can be overwhelming for any project. MOSDEX will probably continue to run as long as the bot continues to run properly, a native token is a double-edged sword. But this is totally up to the project team to decide. For now, stakers will have to use the platform in its purest form and worry less about it the native token is going up in price or crashing due to developer and marketing team activities.
