Is Mistplay Worth the Effort?

By The Lynx | Crypto Lynx | 21 Aug 2022

If you have played any online games with ads in the past couple of years, you have probably seen some ads for Mistplay. I generally recommend ignoring all of these ads, and for good reason. I do not recommend playing hours on your phone every day. There are just too many more important things you can do with your life. Furthermore, I know that many of these game cash or crypto earning opportunities are either fake, a waste of time, or worse, scams.

However, if you do have a bit of free time, or are already playing mobile games, read on. Not only will I give an honest answer about Mistplay, but I will make two other recommendations.

Fake Money-Making Apps and Time-Wasting Scams
Here is a typical example of a time-wasting scam: The game is set up in such a way that you can earn $100 or more, but to get there, you have to earn a certain number of in-game coins. At first, they make it seem pretty easy. They throw coins at you to get you hooked and to make you think you will get there relatively quickly, then they get less generous. They make it nearly impossible to get there without spending literally hundreds of hours on the app. Meanwhile, you are getting constant ads, while the game itself is scanning your phone for your viewing and spending habits, and then selling that information to other companies.

After a while, you eventually figure out their scam and delete the time-wasting app. But you have lost hours of your life to a meaningless game with nothing to show for it. I hate how the people behind these slow scams operate. They are the only ones making real money. Don't give them your precious time.

There are literally hundreds of these apps. They are all very similar. Some are promoted with cheesy ads that are pretty easy to spot. Others come with slick professional-looking graphics. Either way, the result is the same. You will spot them when you see that their goal posts are set pretty far back.

Now, on to the question of the moment: Are any if these earning apps worth your time?

The short answer, in my opinion, is “yes!” Yet, my endorsement comes with some qualifications.

Over the past few years, I have tested many apps and games as well as have studied their referral programs. For each one that I have hung on too, I have deleted at least 10x as many.

I have deleted Phoneum, Pi Network, Cash Empire, most all the casino games, and many more. I am not saying these are all scams, but I have found them to be time-wasters. The Bitcoin Alien apps like Litecoin are not terrible, but you cannot earn much. The really bad ones are not worth even listing.

So, on to the three that I have found to be profitable:

Cointiply. This was one of the first crypto faucets I ever tried and has remained my favorite. It is a real BTC earning faucet with a proven track record. I have earned hundreds in USD over the years with it. You will not get rich. However, you will earn Satoshis. They are tethered in your account to the US dollar. There are MANY ways you can earn. For me, the most profitable by far was downloading games and filling out surveys. I do not do surveys anymore. I just got burnt out on them, but not before averaging about $25-$30 a month for the first few months. The image below shows some of my earnings before I cashed out.

For sake of time, I just run the faucet a few times a day and watch some of the higher paid ads. Once in a while I will download a game or partner offer; however, I recommend avoiding all but the Playtime games. On more than one occasion, I have played a game that is supposed to reward you upon reaching a certain level, only to not receive a reward. My time is too valuable for that; I know yours is too. I also have some referrals from as long as 18 months ago that still earn me passive income. The fact that I have referrals still using the app from this long ago is proof of its earning potential.

FreeBitco.in:  This one is unique for sure. The earning potential is higher, but so is the risk. It is a faucet that encourages you to gamble your winnings away. You can spin once per hour to earn a few Satoshis. You also get a Wheel of Fortune spin once per day in which you can earn Satoshis, Lottery Tickets, or Reward Points. You will just have to join to see what that is all about.

They do have some really big winners on a regular basis. There are some big-time gamblers that bet large amounts of BTC every week. I have no reason to believe that the app is not fair. However, keep in mind, if you gamble long enough, the house will win (with very rare exceptions).

I do have a strategy with this one to ensure winnings: You can buy FUN tokens and stake them (you can unstake at any time). These FUN tokens allow you to have more Wheel of Fortune spins every day. I get 7 because of my tokens. If you forget for a few days, not worries. You can still get all your spins and you get email reminders. At one point, I got really busy with life and forgot about this app for a while. Then I checked my email and had about 80 spins accumulated. That was fun! The Satoshis will pile up if you have FUN tokens, which you can convert from within the app with BTC.

You can also use a conservative system of betting on their “Multiply BTC” game to increase your holdings. Just have limits. You push it far enough and you will lose. However, here is a strategy that works: Once you get to a certain number of tokens, withdraw them to your BTC wallet (or at least withdraw a percentage of them). This way, you cannot lose them. Then patiently accumulate more with more hourly spins, daily Wheel of Fortune spins, and conservative strategies on the multiplier. An example of a conservative strategy is this: Only bet very small amounts, double your bet each time you lose (using a 50% win setting). Once you win, go back to the very small number. Warning: This strategy can work, but not if you only have a small amount to bet with.  It is statistically possible to lose 10 or more in a row.

It is possible to only spin and do the Wheel of Fortune spins and make a decent profit if you are willing to stake FUN tokens.

Mistplay: This is one of those apps that rewards you with gift cards (no crypto) for playing their games. One way you know this is legit is that they allow you to cash out for an Amazon gift card once you reach .50 worth of their in-game units. You can easily reach this level in a couple of days.

I have tested them, and Mistplay does pay. Many of the other gift card reward apps do not have such a low threshold to claim your winnings and make it increasingly more difficult to earn rewards the closer you get to your goal. Not so with Mistplay. They have MANY games from which to choose. You just have to make sure to open the games from within the Mistplay app to get credit.  I earned the first gift card within a few days of playing and cashed out. Now that I know they pay, I am working towards a larger goal. Mistplay is only available in the US, Canada, and some European countries.

This is one more example of how you can earn a little bit on the side. I do not recommend you let it dominate your time. Just use it as a substitute for your other mobile games. I play games when I have down time or to unwind a bit. They have a pretty aggressive referral program as well, that will help you earn more units, which you can cash out for gift cards. All of these are for entertainment purposes only with the side bonus of some extra pocket change.

These are three of the best apps I have found to pay real rewards over the past two years of studying and testing. I invite you to share with me your own referral code if you have a legit app that you have found to be profitable. Just do not waste my time and I will not waste yours. :)
