TheRandomRewarder Has Returned to Read.Cash

It's not exactly news, as apparently Rusty aka TheRandomRewarder has returned to the read.cash blogging platform (and been back for a minute). I was compiling my monthly free crypto earnings when I noticed that I had been tipped by Rusty; the first time in months. Actually, it may have been continuing all along as I have not cross-posted an article on read.cash in two months. Anyway, I was under the impression that the person behind the behind TheRandomRewarder had decided to abandon the platform, due to people cheating the community by posting AI-written content and claiming it as their own in order to receive the free Bitcoin Cash (BCH) rewards. As they wrote in their last posted article:

read.cash project has been created with a mission to popularize Bitcoin Cash. Unfortunately, it has failed to deliver on that promise.

With the invention of AI writing, unfortunately the price per article is quickly approaching $0.00. Anyone can generate any article today for free on any topic and it will seem quite reasonable and sometimes an OK read. However, with the price to generate an article reaching $0.00, it doesn't make much sense to pay even $0.01 per article.

We think that AI will be a great assistant for the good writers in the future, but unfortunately currently it's mostly used to cheat.

And I couldn't agree more. If anyone's using AI to write articles, they should not reap any rewards from it. On the other hand, if someone is using an AI like ChatGPT to write for an article in order to demonstrate something about that AI (or doing some sort of experiment) and explicitly notes which part was written by the AI, then I feel that is an acceptable use of it.

One thing I've noticed about read.cash is that the total amounts of tips are no longer listed on each article:

And indeed, as I noticed, one of the more recent articles is about the interface and look of read.cash -- how fitting! I'm not sure if it's a glitch or not but the USD equivalent of the BCH tips I received from Rusty were not contained within the notifications:

Regardless, I was surprised to see the old RandomRewarder pop up in my feed. Maybe I only got a reward because my article was about Bitcoin Cash transactions on Trust Wallet? LOL

I really thought that Rusty Rewarder Bot was gone. Perhaps it's worth giving read.cash another shot and some more attention. I guess I will just have to rotate it back into my nightly routine. I will keep my eyes out for quality content there and send tips accordingly. Hopefully it's not flooded with AI-generated content again. I have noticed a similar trend here on P0x. Write your own content people, make it personal! A computer program cannot do that.

One more thing on the subject of Rusty -- the tips I received came from a relatively new wallet, which appears to have been created on March 10, 2023 and has transacted over 6,000 times with $1.6 million worth of Bitcoin Cash. Perhaps the vision of increasing the adoption of BCH carries on after all!
