On November 5th, Taco Bell announced the arrival its "Mountain Dew Baja Blast Pie" via a press release. At first, I was uncertain on how to get one. I couldn't find it on the app. I was also confused by the words "yours by a slice of luck." Turns out, it's only available for sale in-store with a limit of one per customer. Well, I was lucky enough to get one:

...straight into the freezer it went. Perhaps it will be broken out for Thanksgiving, or another special occasion.
The pie was $19.99, plus tax. According to a store employee, each Taco Bell location received only one case of pies to sell, with 12 coming in a case. This kind of "extremely limited edition" style of marketing creates FOMO in people like me and essentially guarantees a product will sellout. You know I turned to eBay to check the marketplace on these sweet treats. Can you believe what I found?

Well, good luck to the opportunist looking to get 15k for one of these pies! Dry ice, anyone? None of the actual pies have sold, but some empty boxes have:

Well, you know what they say: there's a market for everything...including Taco Bell memorabilia! Anyway, sorry I couldn't leave a review on how the pie actually tasted. When the special occasion does occur that I break it out for, I'll let everyone know! Of course, by then the virality and interest in the Mountain Dew Baja Blast pie will have worn off. Oh well, I've never been great at timing! At least I got to my local Taco Bell in time to get the Baja gold...
