I've been writing for several weeks, maybe almost a month now about PepsiCo's new soda, Starry. In case you didn't already know, it is indeed replacing Sierra Mist. Finally, it is time to put an end to this chapter of blogging and do a head-to-head taste test.
Without further ado, let's roll with the first picture.

Sierra Mist has a very distinct, almost flat flavor. Not flat in that it is uncarbonated but it does not pack much of a punch. Starry, on the other hand, has more of a bite to it like its Sprite counterpart. Upon first sip, Starry immediately reminded me of the now discontinued Mountain Dew Ice. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if it is the same formula without the caffeine.

They are both clear sodas and do not contain any artificial coloring. They both have roughly the same amount of sugar and 240 calories each.

Final word: I would say that Starry is much more of a Sprite clone than Sierra Mist ever was. If Pepsi was looking to essentially copy Sprite, they have successfully done so with Starry. If that was their end goal all along, I just wonder what took them so long.
