Welcome to a new series on my blog, WOW short for words of wisdom
How long will I keep this up? Who knows, only time will tell. For now, hope you enjoy the read.
I'm watching Marvel's Spider-Man series 1994-1997. I watched as a kid and for some reason, I felt like watching now as a grown-ass woman.
I'm on Season 5 and throughout the series, Spider-Man mentions how he has the worst luck, he says it a few times and honestly, he does.
He is not a mutant and he is not human it was a freak accident! I think all he can really do is stick to walls and he has mediocre strength compared to other superheroes that make an appearance on this series. A few times he runs out of web, the whole time I thought his body produced it and he would shoot it from his veins from his wrist I don't know whatever but the point is he runs out of cartridges like a fucking printer.
Regardless, of how lame he is as a superhero I feel for him. It reminds me of Salieri in Amadeus but that's another story.
In this episode he mentions again how he has bad luck, this is actually a scene of some diff dimension Spider-Man that has a slightly better life than the Spider-Man we know but nonetheless is still lame-o
In this scene they show a memory, he is fishing with Uncle Ben and he says,
"But I can't do it, Uncle Ben! You know my rotten luck!"
Uncle Ben answers,
"Nonsense! Boy, Good or bad luck is nothing but the right or wrong mix of opportunity, preparation, and confidence"
"Now I know you're prepared because I had a hand in that, we're looking square at Opportunity!
Peter ends up catching a fish.

I guess that's what I'm trying to convey here. I wondered why I have such bad luck. I question and came to realize situations in which I presumed it was only my bad luck to prevent me from getting what I needed, in reality, was I ever prepared, was it the right opportunity did I lack confidence?
Luck is a chance it is not getting something by the result of your actions.
Uncle Ben says it's a mix of preparation opportunity and confidence.
To be prepared is a form of action to be confident is an ability, a feeling or belief that you can do something so then opportunity is chance that eeny meeny miny moe.
How this series ended in 1997 is the different dimensions Spider-Man this one was a mix of Spider-Man and Carnage I think, not sure wasn't paying attention the whole time. In this dimension, UncleBen was still alive.
I guess this comes from Stan Lee himself someone told him and he shared it thru Spider-Man. RIP
Anyway, later. Thanks for reading.
