Looking for MetaMask alternative?

INTRO

There is one rule that is especially important in the crypto world. Unlike having all of your money in one bank, having all of your money in one crypto wallet might result in, well, losing all of it.

If you are a true security freak and are looking for an additional Web-crypto wallet, then you can try out the Tally-Ho.

Tally Ho enables a connection to DeFi and web3, just like MetaMask, with the following exceptions:

  • Tally Ho Swap fees are about half the price of other wallets (with no hidden fees)
  • the project is owned by the community
  • wallet fees go to the Tally Ho community

Although the project is new, the upcoming Polygon support might bring in thousands of new users. Are you one of them? I am definitely trying them out (carefully, of course).

OPEN SOURCE IS THE KEY!

Tally Ho, in contrast to Metamask, claims to be a wallet that is "community owned and run." This is because the source code is entirely open-sourced with a GPLv3 license that is available to everyone, and all of its fees (such as from trading) go straight to the Tally Ho DAO. To put things in context, ConsenSys, Metamask's parent company, has revealed that the service generated $200+ million in income in 2021 alone, none of which was returned to consumers, and that it is now on track to generate even higher revenues in 2022.

With Tally Ho, there is an opportunity to own a community-owned, free, and open-source wallet. Community ownership is supported by software freedom, and the GPLv3 is the clearest indication of our dedication to free software.

Tally Ho's codebase must be used in open source projects only. A wallet cannot have a closed license; it must be open source if it forks Tally Ho or uses Tally Ho's code. This ensures that Tally Ho's solutions are always implemented within an open source framework and prevents third parties from appropriating the value that our community has generated. Everything created using Tally Ho carries forward our dedication to community ownership and open source software.
